Howdy Confused, Can I offer you some Fresh Fruit ?
;-)
- The new Emusers is actually quite easy to work with once you get the hang of it.. As an example, you can copy>paste images, just remember to make a space after the image. Links can be added with option 4 from the right on the toolbar ^ . (both images and text)
Collegium Instrumentale Brugense & Patrick Peire - Overture in F Major, TWV 55:11 "Alster": Die concertierenden Frösche und Krähen (the concert of frogs and crows)
Well, I'd rather have more frogs than crows but they're both welcome to drop by.
Strom Noir - Music for the Succulents
This was terrific 5*
Widesky - Lamb Country Tumbleweeds
I also added Celsius to keep track of the temperature of this years experiment.
Janek Schaefer - Unfolding Honey
Thanks for reminding me. The only other album I had was Songs For Europe with Philip Jeck (terrific also). I picked up the rest of Luxury and look forward to visiting that Inner Space Memorial in Wonderland in the future.
Zvuku - Woodpile
I must admit that I had the choice to pay for the track or download that entire sampler for free and I chose free.
Hideki Umezawa + Shohei Amimori - débris dans le jardin
This was also terrific and perfect for the garden as well.
Once again, terrific. live and free! I believe I'll also add some Dark Reflections to it.
Kit Downes Trio - Roots
Makes me think of Jazz music
Rudy Royston - Prayer (for the earth)
In spite of the hidden track aspect of this selection (when you think your speaker wire needs jiggling because the sound's cut out and you start to muck around when the sound starts up again), I really enjoyed it.
Yaron Herman - Sunbath
Thanks again for all your suggestions, they're much appreciated.
Well.......it's story time again. As usual I've been keeping myself pretty busy in the garden. Still digging and changing things around. I had that laser eye surgery in 2000 and it's just about wearing off. I'm testing out the new font size and it's working pretty good so far. It's way easier to make out the 5,6 & 8s but it does appear to take up more room.
I only got around to digitizing a few LPs last winter, as I decided to listen to tracks that have only had up to 1 play since I failed to properly transfer my old iTunes library over to this computer in 2011. I lost all the play counts & ratings up to that point and as of today I still have 24,613 tracks that haven't had a play since that fateful day. I'm not much of an album listener so I started off on a random play but then changed to tracks in order over 4 mins long. I'm currently at the 4:17 time line and have discovered that my hearing is also starting to mess up. I can't remember if I ever noticed such a difference in the volume levels of some tracks on a random play as I have lately, but it seems I'm constantly adjusting that volume option while hunting down missing artwork and what-not. If I can remember I'm going find a few of those to add to the experiment.
At any rate, I've also spent my winter listening to many great guitar based tracks thanks to amclark2's tip about Sir Richard Bishop's free albums. They were a great listen and I think his album Decompositions, will fit in perfectly with this years experiment, unfortunately I can't find the album cover art for it anymore. I'm looking forward to finding some new guitar players with your help. (if it's between 4 & 5 minutes that would be fantastic but not necessary)
Next, another terrific album...
by Gianluca Becuzzi & Fabio Orsi - Wildflowers Under the Sofa.
A 5* listen (it does feature guitar, among other things)
Lastly, another favourite...
by Jim O'Rourke & Loren Connors - Are You Going to Stop... In Bern?
More great guitar players. Thanks to Dave Sumner & Kargatron for making me keep an eye out for hatOLogy to show up.
-always
Ps Thanks to Brighternow for the tips and the hat(now)ART update!
Interestingly, when I control click on it, I don't get the option to copy the image address. I only get an option to copy link. Which option do you use to post a picture of the link.
Well, as I fall under the Casual Luddite category, I've only used the Safari on this computer to get around the internet. I'm afraid more browsers would only be more confusing. I know I can rely on my emusical friends to set me straight if need be.
Here's an old and a new guitar player(to me) that sound great together.
After hearing that I had to add some of Andy's solo work.
After hearing that, it made me seek out
I must admit that in my vinyl collection there's some Windham Hill Samplers that first put me on to Micheal Hedges and that lot. Aerial Boundaries is still an all time favourite.
There's a lot tracks that are perfect for the garden and will be making their way into this years experiment. I'd be happy to track down any other suggestions.
-always
Ps. Oh, I almost forgot, it was this album
by Erik Mongrain that got me started in the first place. Just downloading now.
Well, It's story time once again. The rain hasn't been very giving this year so I've been spending most of my free time in the garden. I can usually haul water from our rain barrels to satisfy it but as much as I hate to have to pay to water the lawn, this year I'll have to pony up. I chose a bad year to re-dig the front and side beds and relocate all those perennials. It's all fun. I love to dig.
But, that's not even the story. It's about my Dad and my love for music. Growing up, I had
2 older brothers and my sister was the oldest. Dad could pick up any instrument and after noodling around with it for a while he could make it sing. We grew up with guitars, a mandolin, a fiddle, a uke, harmonicas, spoons, a few jew's harps, my sister's accordion and my oldest brother's trombone that he played in Jr high-school. Pop could play them all. He was especially talented at the guitar and played so effortlessly. Try as I might, I could never get those instruments to sound like his, I was one of those kids who were asked to lip-sync the songs at the elementary school Christmas recital. He told me to just go ahead and sing, but in the end I just mouthed the words. I've always regretted that decision.
At any rate, My dad is going to be this year's inspiration for the experiment. He passed on in 2002 and 21 days later my Mom (who wasn't sick or anything) went to sleep and didn't wake up for Father's day.He loved to play the guitar and and I love to listen. Mom loved to garden and I love to dig. Here's some things that I've been digging.
I've added my favourite tracks that seem to fit this years experiment from these albums(so far).
I hope this brings on some rain.

Jac Berrocal, David Fenech and Vincent Epplay
Well, I've caught up to here. Thanks to all who inspired these downloads.
Well, I'm not much a storyteller but I do enjoy the odd attitude adjustment to try to do just that. Finally, we've had some rain but we also managed to get some hail with it. The corn is torn up pretty badly and all the big leafed plants are really shattered. On the plus side, I've saved a ton of time usually spent watering and used it to do some exploring. Thanks to all for the tips. I've added some tracks from these albums that best fit this year's experiment. It's always a plus when the album cover fits too.
Tom Carter - Shots at Infinity 2
Syd Arthur - A Monstrous Psychedelic Bubble (Amorphous Androgynous Remixed)
Viv Corringham/Al Margolis - Skyline Sunset
Kinn - Karlshorst
(F.S. Blumm)
David Grubbs - The Coxcomb
Irr.App.(Ext.) - Ozeanische Gefühle
I'm sure this brought on the rain.
Bert Jansch - "Jack Orion"
Had to convert the vinyl. It has "The Gardener" on it. I was going to do some Pentangle as well but....it just takes so much time.
Bert Jansch - The Bert Jansch Sampler
I've always enjoyed a good sampler.
Touch Guitars Compilation 2015 (free download) - Troy Jones (featuring Adrian Belew), Stick Men (Tony Levin, Markus Reuter & Pat Mastelotto), Ian Boddy & Markus Reuter
I've downloaded some albums from some of the other folks I really enjoyed further down the list
David Grubbs - Thirty Minute Raven
I'm happy to report that no Ravens were attracted to the yard after listening to this. I was a little nervous at first.
Thanatoloop - Unindustrial Music Vol.5: La revelación invertida
Wow! So noisy. NYOP for all their Volumes.
Analog Africa Goes Emusic
14 tracks from this were a perfect fit.
Bobby Previte: Terminals (featuring Zeena Parkins, Greg Osby, Nels Cline, Bobby Previte & john medeski)
Nero Diaspora - Mirrors/Miroirs/Specchi
I'm really not sure how I got to this but, thanks to whomever put me on the search.
It's terrific, all my favourite elements- droney bits, loud bits, found bits, noisy bits, guitar bits, lots of percussion and those kind of vocals.
ps it's free too!
edit- well, not all but a lot.
Svarte Greiner - Drunk, Road, Tree
Celer - Cold traps
Mike McDonald - Live At The Blue Chair Cafe
A Jr. gone wild!!
Foresteppe - No Time To Hurry
sounds like my backyard most of the time and the reason why I don't enjoy listening to music through headphones or earbuds
Bill Orcutt - Solo Acoustic, Vol. 10
Tom Carter - Skyline Grinder
Steven Mackey - Banana/Dump Truck
Tom Carter - The Dance From Which All Dances Come
Ryley Walker - Primrose Green
Terrific. He makes me think about the first time I heard Bert Jansch or John Martyn or Van Morrison.
Fred Lonberg-Holm even shows up. Very interesting album.
Alan Licht - YMCA
Steve Rothery Band - Live in Rome
William Ryan Fritch - Heavy EP
William Ryan Fritch - Revisionist (feat. Benoit Pioulard & Origamibiro)
His voice and that percussion certainly got my attention
Well, time to wrap-up another year's experiment. I couldn't add any fancy pictures of the garden this year, as my older Mac Mini won't respond when I plug the camera into it any more. It won't actually recognize anything I plug into it now, so it looks like I'll have some time to start the battle with it. Darned Computers!
I did find lots of guitars to listen to, thanks to what you're listening to right now and other threads. So, thanks one last time for making the garden so interesting.
