If you like Bruce Springsteen you will probably like the second track Red Eyes; if it had the Boss' voice, it could have been off his next album, IMO. But as the review below shows, it is much more than that. Recommended.
Since the War on Drugs' 2008 debut, Wagonwheel Blues, Philadelphia musician Adam Granduciel has combined 80s-style rock with 70s kosmische musik. He does so on Lost in the Dream, only more so. Imagine Neu! covering Dancing in the Dark. On the one hand, there's a dash of Springsteen in the lyrics, that you-and-me-versus-the-broken-American-dream romanticism. On the other hand, there are repetitive, motorik grooves. The long, spaced-out fades of Under the Pressure and Disappearing provide dreamy interludes worthy of Tangerine Dream. The decaying guitars and analogue synthesisers create a crepuscular melancholy. These are impassioned songs, but they steer clear of Bruce's bombast or lighters-aloft choruses. Granduciel twists his buffed-up sounds into exquisite shapes, such as the delay-drenched guitar solo on Suffering. Acoustic guitar, harmonica and saxophone provide pools of warmth in the dusky depths.
Based in Melbourne, The Vainglories constantly struggles with the grammatical difficulties arising from being a solo artist with a name more suited to a band.
ATO Records various artists comp featuring modern artists covering Dylan's best songs from the 80s. Clearly an early contender for best cover art of the year.

BN; it was this comment ("Yes, I picked up the blue one too") (rather cryptic, without context, which I didn't see the context, so I got curious) that made me pick it up, so thank you both!
Going through my vinyl - checking out older pieces and merging in the latest haul from a friend - I've ended up with a few collections over the years as friends move and scale down - this latest did a great job in filling holes in my collection.
Portlands Blankstairs really take their time with things, both collectively and beatwise. The artists involved have been pounding Pacific Northwest beat music for a couple of years and are just now getting around to their second release as a label, and first proper work of music BST001 being a collection of the aforementioned artists.
This self-titled YIOTA EP drag-drops out through cresting minutes of full-moon waves lushed in ambient luminescence. And when the beat does hit, it probably hits hard. Its hard to tell with all of this space between us.
Thomas Buckner @ Free Music Archive: - "For more than 40 years, baritone Thomas Buckner has dedicated himself to the world of new and improvised music. Buckner has collaborated with a host of new music composers including Robert Ashley, Noah Creshevsky, Tom Hamilton, Earl Howard, Matthias Kaul, Leroy Jenkins, Bun Ching Lam, Annea Lockwood, Roscoe Mitchell, Phill Niblock, Wadada Leo Smith, Chinary Ung, Christian Wolff and many others . . ."
@Doofy - got that The Chicago Sound album, thank you. And my browsing perambulation led me to my current listen, a Grant Green Trio album recorded around 1961 including Wilbur Ware that was not released at the time - very low key album but I like -

I worked with Chris a few years ago and seeing him in the street today reminded me on this his 2nd album, available on Bandcamp.

So far this is not drawing me in as well as their first two albums did. It will need a few listens to hear what's there, though.

Oddly this excellent Harvey Mandel two-fer has disappeared from MP3 availability at Amazon where I got it, and I don't see it at Emu either.
