@Greg - if you liked Belle & Sebastian before, you will like this one. Stays close to the sound of their early albums, nothing very radical. I find the the new Decemberists album more like their early albums, so more Crane Wife than Hazards of Love. I cannot imagine long time fans of either band hearing these albums and being disappointed.
The first Radiohead album I listened to was In Rainbows, and I had never heard any of the ones before that until I decided to get them all for $2 in that Microsoft Christmas promotion to see what I had been missing. On first listen through, I like OK Computer, the rest did not grab me much. First listen, though.
I find it hard to give proper critical thought to Radiohead. Them being such a sacred cow and all. And also maybe although I love them, I may have over loved them and burnt out. I think it's maybe a toss-up between OK Computer and Kid A as to what's best. No OK Computer's best; Kid A is most important. My favorite to listen to is King of Limbs. I don't know if that's because it's freshest? But to me there's something nice about it; instead of experimenting or expanding, they just made a nice solid good album. But all that still being said, I'm still a little mad at you for dismissing Kid A a couple weeks ago. Or was that OK Computer? Anyway.
This reminds me of the time I was at a jazz performance, and the artist (forget who) announced he was going to play a Radiohead song. Elderly audience member turned to her husband and asked, "What's a Radiohead song?"
Not Radiohead; one of several good end-of-year albums I am still getting to know.
I also go back and forth between Kid A and OK Computer. On first listen it was definitely OK Computer, but Kid A seriously grew on me and is probably how I lean now.
The new Bjork really is excellent. It's my first listen, and I'm a little distracted by life stuff so I'm not focusing on it like I'd like, but what I'm picking up I love.
Did I diss Kid A? Could well be, again on a first listen. Can't have been OK Computer, because I only just listened to that one today, and I liked it.
Well, I did keep Kid A queued for another listen, unlike Pablo Honey :-).
It's always funny listening to things that were groundbreaking, from whatever decade or century, when you are no longer listening from unbroken ground. Especially when the ground being broken is not really home turf, as it were (I don't listen to much vocal rock at all).

Emusic have it too, at least in the UK, so as it is only 7 tracks long, ie £2.94, I thought I'd give it a go.

- Indeed two excellent albums.
FWIW, Edward Ka-Spel of The Legendary Pink Dots is a big Radiohead fan. - I was a bit surprised about that.
on the Radiohead debate King of Limbs is well worth a listen
