This one is still previews only. Bandcamp page says it's out Oct 2012 on Home Normal. A very confusing 20 minutes on google suggests maybe it's coming out later this year on Nomadic Kids Republic. I hope so: I want this one.
I've been without electricity for the last few hours as some work was done on our house, so no computer or internet or music except my ipod. But now playing
I am very fond of Éric La Casas work. He is a sensity and creative field recordist. This CD features two works put side by side, two site-specific projects for public spaces. Zone sensible 2 revolves around the bee hives of one Olivier Darné, near Paris. Its a dizzying piece with fascinating layerings of sounds and buzz treatments. Lots of life in this one. Dundee 2 focuses on the two of Dundee (Scotland), through arrangements of scrutinizing looks at its constituents (places, objects, machines, and people). La Casa never falls for the narrative, letting the sounds speak for themselves instead of imposing a linear, unidirectional structure to them. Splendid work. Sur Le Niger are Bilan (Cape Verde) on the acoustic guitar, and Madou Sidiki Diabate (Mali) on the kora. They have an inebriating chemistry between them, here along with invited portuguese guitar player Cust
"Happiness is the Problem is a two-act opera about three struggling roommates in Brooklyn: Julie, Emily, and Maureen. Their fortune begins to change when Julie, a bioanthropsychopharmacologist, discovers an elixir of happiness derived from the secretions of slug mucus, which they bottle and sell as Euphoressence.
Happiness is the Problem is dedicated to Mary Halvorson. It has been performed at Roulette, Le Poisson Rouge, Issue Project Room, the Wilmette Theater, and The Stone."

Another free download from Bandcamp. No date, but I am assuming it was recorded in early 1970s
