I think I found this through TMT, but could be through here; anyway Rex's to GP and Brighternow; this is very nice stuff, and GP some of the songs here have appeared on the future sequence comps. NYOP.
Yesterday GP posted a new album by William Basinski and Richard Chartier, and when I looked at it, I found that this 2005 album from them (Untitled) is $1.78 on amazon mp3. There are two versions of Untitled; this is the original version with two long tracks; the re-released version with 4 tracks is $8.99
@amc2, I have a vague memory that I got that original untitled album also really cheap somewhere else some time back. LaLa maybe? Will have to dig that one out again.

(This has been a little hard to come by for a while, but I see Amazon sellers have some copies at the moment. For those who like bleeps and burbles, pastoral meadow sounds, bursts of noise, apparent randomness.)
Champions League (European soccer) starts tonight- it is still a few hours off, but this is THE competition and my anticipation and expectation is rising, as another season begins. The world's best players, the top clubs playing to be in effect the top world team. Sadly, Lowlife's team, Tottenham Hotspurs, marginally failed to qualify, so they are in the second tier European competition, the Europa League (I genuinely mean sadly, not in an ironic way, as my wife's family support Spurs too and I would much rather see them there than their close rivals, Arsenal) For many of us in the World this is what sport is all about, the top competition in the major world sport. My team, Manchester United, have a new manager and it is going to be fascinating seeing how they play now in Europe - just bring it on, I can't wait!!
Re that Field Tracker album by Inoue and Deutsch above - it's interesting to see how one's ear gets trained. I still remember when I first bought and listened to that - I was drigin round vancouver in a hire car - and finding it challenging listening. It felt very brave and out there, a dense tangle of difficult noises. Now it strikes my ear as rather intimate, gentle, as I said above: pastoral.

- "The Mount Fuji Doomjazz Corporation is the heavy droning improv incarnation of The Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble. The music taps into the blistering low-frequency guitar soundscapes, augmented with smatterings of electronic skullduggery and eruptions of cello and trombone. The overall effect of this ensemble conjures expansive sonic wastelands which seem to heighten in sludgy intensity as the sessions go on. Combining subtlety with mightily impressive cinematic-sounding climaxes. Across draughty plateaus of bottom-heavy bluster, arcs of grim string instruments sound out, making for a surprisingly digestible bout of improvisational doom.
T.M.F.D.J.C release their 5th live album 'Roadburn'. Recorded live April 12th 2012 at the famous Roadburn Festival in Tilburg, where the Corporation had the honor of opening on the main stage on Sunday at the Festival's Afterburner.
'Roadburn' is The Corporations heaviest and darkest journey into abstract alien industrial territories. During this show the animations of Harry Smith guided the band through this darkened journey of colossal darkness..."

New from the weareallghosts netlabel. Half the tracks reference early forms of ambient that are steely and evasive. Very enjoyable. NYOP.
Augur Ensemble - "The Daily Unknown"
Nordic chamber-jazz w/improv. Quite pretty. Its mix of orchestral and avant-garde improv reminiscent of the Peggy Lee Band.
Probably will write up a review of it.

This from the Naviagtor record label a really good album from a new British Folk singer
@BT - thanks, yes, I'd forgotten I downloaded that album plus a couple of others from memory, I'll look them out again
@Jonah - its one of the albums I play most often, not all recorded here, because I'll often play it in the car, some of the tracks are superb IMO
@BDB - yes, we still pay per track which has its advantages, but also disadvantages, generally 7 digital prices are comparable though, thanks

Looking at Julian Priester's discography led me to this one - one of those tracked-priced Black Saint/Soul Note bargains at Amazon
