  • Grateful Dead 1980-11-30, Fox Theatre, Atlanta
  • Birds of Chicago - Real Midnight. The 1st of my E music purchases this month, slightly folky, bits of gospel and a hint of jazz, worth a listen

I'm still catching up to last night. More Celluloid from 1985

This link is to his Discogs page. I don't think I could ever have too much Laswell in the library. This album also features Bernie Worrell, Herbie Hancock, Mory Kanté, Aiyb Dieng, Nicky Skopelitis and Wally Badarou.  4 Tracks - $1.98 for me. 5*

Edit -Oops, still messing up these links and I can't seem to change it. This is the Emusic link that was available to me.
  • All caught up, tonight I'll start with some Shango from 1984. Get funky with Bill.

Features -Afrika Bambaataa, Bernard Fowler, Olu Dara, Nicky S, Michael Beinhorn and Jimmy Mac.  5 tracks $2.45 for me.

Well, I'm not quite sure what I'll find here. This Celluloid 2014 release is split into 5 tracks instead of 6. Sounds great so far. Have I mentioned how much I love the guitar.

I know he didn't like it that much but put me in with the bunch that thought it was terrific. It runs the same time and I really can't remember the original sequence. My pal owned this one. Buddy Miles, Billy Rich and Larry Young. 5*
    $2.45 for me

ps Parts of it sound like this

  • Eric Bachman - Eric Bachman. I was listening to the new Bob Mould samples on E music and also saw this and streamed it on Bandcamp ( it is on the Merge page). That 2 new albums today. This could be an expensive month as the new Hammock album is due to drop in April as well as the new Explosions in the Sky. The bills may have to wait a week or two

I've always enjoyed a good sampler, just like this one from 1979 from my vinyl

its how I first heard Thomas Leer and Robert Rental

I lost my vinyl of The Bridge a long time ago (the dangers of having raised 3 sons) so I was happy to see it come up on the Celluloid search

    Recording Info.
This album was recorded at home on 8 track equipment, provided for us by Industrial Records.
It was produced in two weeks dating 18th June to 2nd July.
All blips clicks & unseemly noises were generated by refrigerators & other domestic appliances & are intrinsic to the music.
Special Thanks to Throbbing Gristle for their help & encouragement throughout.

    Objects Appear Closer

I am not sure what an Obect is, but there's some nice stuff on here from Hank Jones, Ron Carter and Tony Williams.
  • This is perhaps the most coherent gathering of different tracks I've ever heard.
    - In fact it works as a composition in it's own right. - Brilliant !

    Some old favourites.

Sounds pretty chilly so far, Here's the Discogs credits

This was terrific - not only that but what could come up in the list. Train wreck.

Spooky!!! I'll have to add that.
