I watched a bit of the Glastonbury highlights yesterday, which is very unusual for me. Saw the set by these guys and enjoyed the music. I'd heard the name before but was probably put off by the "freak show" (please don't misunderstand this comment) aspect of 2 of their 3 singers being in wheelchairs. The music is great a fine modern day take on Kinshasa rhythms. Available on the much maligned (insert smiley) Emu at least in that used to be the U.K.
No sooner read The Wire review... Peter Brotzmann w/ electric bassist Marino Pliakas and drummer Michael Wertmuller plus some nice electronic manipulation in places.
As this thread has passed 5000 comments and is nearing 180 pages, I am thinking it may be nearing time to archive it and start a new one. Feel free to post suggestions for a creative name involving the number 15...
We've been away from home for the weekend, but not actually a relaxing weekend when we realise the outcome of what the majority of British voters have achieved, so thanks for your sentiments amc2. Without being too political, all I will say to those in the US is think carefully of the implications before you vote in November, because, if it is to be believed, many here did not do that and are now realising the folly.
"Sounds is inspired by Kandinsky's manuscript of woodcuts and prose by
the same name from 1912. Composers Paola Prestini and Milica Paranosic
chose to interpret the work in different ways. Prestini's Sounds is a
meditation on the meaning and implications of blue, red, black, and
white in our society. Through the personification of each color, new
perspectives on race, love, and the difficulties of connection in this
era of extreme communication are uncovered. Paranosic's Sounds addresses
the balance between collective identities and individualism, expressed
through largely choral sections of music, movement, and film.

Thanks for the reminder on posting BN I will tattoo it in reverse on my forehead for the next time I look in a mirror...

@brighternow, so what kind of person is watching the build up to a goal in a tied international game in injury time and decides to have their camera on the commentators instead of the actual event...?

Eccentric Soul: Omnibus. The best $6.49 I have spent in a while (or less, with the last booster sale).
Yeah; I was enjoying some of the Eccentric Soul earlier today too; great stuff!
