So that album was worth a trillion stars in 2009, but he has released one worth more than a trillion stars since and that makes the old trillion equal four?

Glad to see this finally show up at emusic. I am not sure how recently it was added but I do know that after it came out I searched for it repeatedly at intervals and it was not there.
Grateful Dead - 1976-06-24, Tower Theatre. This one's really pretty; really nice piano. Maybe it's just my mood but it's grabbing my attention more than the last few have.
Sorry about the brexit result to those opposed. Fingers crossed we don't end up with an ideologically similar result here in November. (Hope that doesn't run afowl of any moderators...)
Yeah, thrill Jockey's been gone for a while now which is a shame because I find myself getting more and more into various Sam Prekop projects, but everything but Shrimp Boat is on Thrill Jockey. I got a Shrimp Boat 3 album box used the day after record store day and they've all seen heavy rotation in the car ever since, although I haven't ripped them yet so haven't mentioned them here.
Well, hearing news that Bernie's gone is awfully sad. I know at one time I thought that 72 was pretty old but the closer I get, I think it's pretty young. The only Bernie Worrell album I had in my library was his first release in 78 which I just digitized this Feb. It now resides on the broken hard drive but emusic has a copy and I'd like to hear it again, right now. My vinyl looks like this.
Ps I had to pull out the vinyl for the listen. There really is nothing like being able to hold that square foot.
This from a cd but that inscription at the bottom reads
I can't leave my library with just one album of his, so I also got this from 2007
ps -another terrific listen. Great bass, new favourite guitar tracks, banjo and those great keyboards. He'll be missed. I also picked up this album But I can't stay up that late. I'll look forward to hearing it another time.
@brighternow, I have been listening to One as well, and have mixed feelings. After what I read I was expecting the bees to play more of a role in the mix. I have listened on decent earbuds and on good room speakers and I am a bit disappointed that if I had not known already I am not sure I would have picked out that bees were a major sound ingredient. I am not sure what I was expecting, but after reading a review that was all rhapsodic about the sound of the hive, if it's the sound I am thinking it is in the mix, it could have been a bowed double bass. I guess I was maybe expecting something more like Porya Hatami's delicate balancing of natural and instrumental sounds. It feels to me on this one like the instruments "win" in the mix. Nice album, though.
(Conversation at supper last night. Can't remember how the topic came up, but: My daughter (tone implying that the idea aired is a silly one): So has anyone made an album out of insect noises yet? Me: I actually just bought a whole album based on recordings of bees. My daughter: [LOL] You're like a meme. Do you have a moose album yet? Me: No. Not yet...") (I didn't mention the Jana Winderen albums of fish noises.)
A moose album sounds awesome; let me know when you find it. I sampled the bees album too and I had the same thought; bee buzz sounds so nice, why put all that normal instrumentation in there!
Well, I'm thankful for the Bees too. We have a BumbleBee hive that's been returning to our cracked-out, sinking garage floor for the last few years and don't seem to mind our comings and goings. This year was a big blossom year for our Rescue apple and sitting under it felt like being in the hive. It roared with all kinds of bees. My wife has names for them all, mostly Big Bee. I started my evening with Apostolos Loufopoulos' Bee and I've been looking forward to getting this out of the SFL. Perfect timing. Ps - perfect for the garden rotation, Thanks.
