Telefon Tel Aviv - Map of What Is Effortless

On Hefty Records - that once was available on Emusic.

ETA: See you all on monday . . .
    :-)

They are coming to town next week, and we will be there - !
  • Red House Painters - Old Ramon

    Off on holiday brighternow? Enjoy!
  • Sings album cover

@Doofy - just listened to the samples from Tim Berne on Amazon, sounds good. I'll now need to remember in about 3 months to see if ECM release it at emusic!

  • The Velvet Underground - White Light/White Heat (deluxe anniversary version)

Months later and I still am very happy with all the stuff I got from that microsoft sale. (Funny iPhone autocorrect capitalizes iPhone and Google but not microsoft).

  • Assortment of tunes on my iPod - the Line In is about the only function still working on our venerable boombox here at the office - from Dengue Fever.  I'd still put that band in my top five favorite discoveries from eMu.
  • Speaking of "Big D", it's another beautiful day here!
My listening has been on iTunes shuffle since shortly
after midnight Tuesday morning. I currently can't stop
or start anything on iTunes because, for the past 3 days
(and ending Friday morning), I've been using it to transfer
about 7.8TB of tunes (about 600,000) from my old setup to
a new one and you can't really access it while it's doing this.
  • It's always nice to have someone make my music collection not seem even close to excessive :-)
  • The Pineapple Thief - Someone here is Missing

    (And earlier, before that:
    The Pineapple Thief: Tightly Unwound)

    Both better than I remembered.
  • And there was me excited about adding 32gb to my MP3

Wow, I'm pretty sure I'm below 1TB still!

The eponymous first album from The Panamericans - instrumental Latin/Lounge/Surf/Garage vibe I finally had the chance to actually listen to - very nice, melodic, relaxing.
Edit - Since we're in confessional mode, I figure I'm over a TB but I don't know exactly where since that is spread out between my desktop and all the backups on a couple of external HDs.  I do still have my vinyl, and one of these days I'm going to hook up the turntable I still have in the box, but it will have to be somewhere the bad kitties can't get at it.  I can only imagine how enchanted they would be by the spinning wheel so to speak.  We had a cat years ago who learned how to knock the records on to the floor and use them as boogie boards - that was not exactly good for the playability.

The excellent CD that accompanies this book.  Must admit I still haven't read the book...

Current library stats - a mere 227 GB, 32.5K tracks.  Plus another 55K on the office computer, with some duplication.  Kind of funny last night...my cousin, a rock guy who has never really gotten into digital music before, was showing me all the music he put on his new phone.  50 albums...ranging all the way from Kraftwerk to Joy Division!  But then he still has all his old vinyl, which is more than I can say.
  • Alright, my library is no longer ridiculously oversized! And I'm actually trying to go through and delete duplicates and freebie single tracks that aren't really that important.

In the meantime, lots of random stuff this morning:

Great album.  Tommy Flanagan piano, Jack DeJohnette drums, John Scofield guitar, Dave Holland bass, Stefon Harris vibes, Conrad Herwig trombone
  • Trying from my iPhone - image proving difficult! Playing The River - Bruce Springsteen
