There's a new really good doc about Bob Weir on Netflix ("the Other One"). Watching that and hearing about the new box set made me want to revisit early Dead.
Hmm, just pulled up this thread out of habit and realized I had no idea what it was I was now listening to. That doesn't happen very often. Turns out it's:
Right now there is a saxophone very definitely giggling at me. Pretty sure this one is Doofy's fault :-). Seriously, it's quite interesting. Thanks, Doofy.
@Lowlife - as mentioned somewhere above I bought a boxed set of early Rick Lee Jones CDs recently and have been listening to Pirates again - I liked it lots way back and it has become one of my current favourites again. Timeless.
Over the last nearly a week I have been regularly doing a 40 minute each way journey to see my elderly mother in hospital. So I have been playing the main Bruce Springsteen albums in order. Currently up to Brilliant Disguise. Once I have finished I'll make some comments. It is fascinating doing this for a major artist.

Funny, I was just thinking in the car that it would be good some time this summer to do that with Bruce Cockburn. I even thought it might be worth a thread/MiG piece(s), along the lines of brief context for each album, a few comments on its strengths/themes, and a few comments on one must-have track. Kind of like a music version of the TV rewatch blog series (I've been working my way through these).
Whether I actually find the time is another matter. There are 30+ Bruce Cockburn albums.

I'm liking this way more than I thoight I would. "World Music" as a tag always scares me a little, but maybe it shouldn't?
