Alkebu-Lan was one of the records I loved so much growing up that I had that opening poem memorized and could freely recite the whole thing at any time. I had a blackboard in my music room where I practiced instruments and composing with that poem and various scribbled notes about that recording scrawled on it. 1972.
I started the day in the 1980s. I still think this album is great, at least after the opener, Art of Parties, which always grates on me. Amid a flood of pretty similar synth pop at the time they crafted something here that sounded like nothing else.

Hard to believe for me that Carly Simon is now 71!
I will be in the 1970s today, if anybody needs me
And I will be in Raster-Noton land for some time:
Anne-James Chaton with Alva Noto and Andy Moor - Décade
Alva Noto - Xerrox, vol 3
