Good weird one from the Muse label. I got it on mp3 somewhere, can't figure out where. Dusty Groove says:
A spacey album of keyboard duets between Joe Chambers and the great Larry Young! The album was recorded shortly before Larry passed away, and it features him and Chambers on a number of different keyboards – electric, acoustic, and organ – plus additional drums by Chambers on a few tracks. The overall sound is very spare – much more laidback than the hard-jamming fusion of Larry's Arista years, and a wonderful coda to Young's career.
Well, I've got just about everything Talk Talk recorded and this too. Big fan! He has one of those terrific voices that I instantly recognize. Thanks to amclark2 for the reminder.
Thanks. I've really enjoyed his other work and look forward to finding this.. but I think I might have to hold out for the chance to plug headphones into the CD. Meanwhile This was great for the garden

The series features unreleased recordings as well as reissues of previously released material. Our hope is that the series will shed a new light on the oft-lauded and vibrant electronic music community of the Bay Area. The name Carter Scholz will be familiar to those who follow electronic music as well as contemporary Science Fiction writing, as Scholz is an adept practitioner of both. Lexicon Plus centers around a series of pieces made via a Lexicon-brand multi-effect unit fed back into itself and manipulated through computer controlled MIDI. The result is a shockingly dense pulsing wall of noise, each movement a different color.
Specifically, Changing of the Guard. "Sixteen Banners United" would make a good new "what are you listening to" thread title...
My first Dylan album as it happens. Got invited to the older friend of a school friend's flat and offered a Newcastle Brown (I was 15/16). Listened to this with my head swimming, feeling nervy about the situation. I know it's "wrong" but no other Dylan album can touch it for me. Ur experience and all that!
Andreas Lang (bass), Johannes Schleiermacher (saxophone), Kasper Tom Christiansen (drums), Wanja Slavin (saxophone, clarinet)
The Danish-German quartet “Umlaut Urlaub” from Berlin sets an example
for young modern jazz from the German federal capital. And it does so in
an easygoing and charming way: Completely unpretentious, the
compositions are accompanied by an airiness and easiness, while at the
same time showing complex structures and partly abstract themes. Even
the quartet’s ventures into collective improvisation never end in
headless outbreaks. Everything seems to be interwoven. The themes in one
moment create warmth and light heartedness and in another ask for the
listener’s undivided attention. Tensions and sudden increases with
unexpected outcomes can often be found within one track - from intimate
moments to the deconstruction of the created worlds. The main part of
the compositions lingers in dreamy, slightly melancholy spheres. The
saxophonists Wanja Slavin and Johannes Schleiermacher give the tracks
their essential musical colouring. They are joined by Andreas Lang
(electric bass) and Kasper Tom Christiansen (drums) in the rhythm
section. Together they conquer the listener with independence and
intelligent interplay.
Back again after losing Broadband for about a week. Those in the UK will understand this. My ISP is Sky. Telephoned them at 8.30 am in the morning, after the connection stopped the previous evening. After a few checks they said it was a BT OpenReach issue and it would be repaired in 40 hours. What they didn't tell me then was that the 40 hours would not kick in until the start of BT work the next day. The clock only ticks down during their 8 hour day and does not include weekends. So, as I discovered, 40 hours can equate to more than a week. It came back yesterday just before 5.00pm, otherwise we would have had to wait until Monday. Ugh.. I am sure it could done be better!!!
