  • Some sad pop music. From an old favourite - Lowell's daughter - Inara George

    James Place - Voices Bloom

This is rather good. Sort of ambient techno.
  •  Free at the archive.

  • After some rather excellent Munir Bashir along popped

    Meditations - 33 Eyes
Sounds a little like you might expect from a release on a label called Anathema Sounds ;-)

  • And moving considerably more mainstream, well what was mainstream in the mid '90's. Allegedly the USA's answer to MBV. Melodic shoegaze basically.

I had forgotten how good this one was.
  • Live at Carnegie Hall - An Acoustic Evening

This is an example of where emusic has gone wrong over recent months. Joe Bonamassa's releases have always been quite prompt on emusic in the past. This was released three or four weeks ago but it is still not there. He hasn't changed labels either. I'd have bought it from emusic but instead I am streaming for free from Amazon

Pauline Oliveros: “A wondrous violinist who takes adventurous journeys into uncharted musical territories.”
Lydia Lunch (who produced the album): “Cellular Resonance is one of Mia Zabelka’s most evocative recordings. It transcends genres taking listeners on a mystical journey through her unique musical universe.”

  • Seoul Jazz

Checking out what bassist Dezron Douglas has been into lately. "Soul Jazz," where he covers classic soul tunes, is brand new. Only on iTunes, aside from a pricey import CD

Ps. once again - a terrific listen.

    A review from his website
“Sometimes music shouldn't be easy, and instead should be mysterious, idiosyncratic and the work of a true maverick. So we should welcome the arrival of a new Johnny Dowd album. . . . Never a man to run from the truth, if there was any justice, this guy would be a legend.“— Acoustic Magazine (UK)
“Imagine if Hank Williams had mutated into Captain Beefheart, acquiring a bunch of primitive electronic equipment along the way, and you’ll get some idea of where Johnny Dowd is at onExecute American Folklore. . . . Gloriously deviant.“— Andy Gill, The Independent (London)

  • Stray Ghost - A House of Gold and Oak
A very nice free one from the archive from years back, rediscovered and enjoyed this evening.

  • Just found this - if Jon Irabagon's on it, I'm interested in hearing it
  • A big Thanks to @greg for pointing me to this last Sept.

A free twelve track compilation from Joe Bonamassa, covering his career, available at https://jbonamassa.com/ (still free BTW)

Just getting around to it now.

Well, I've finally caught up to June after seeing what everyone's been listening. I also now have 3 notebook pages of things to check-out which is going to be tough, as I'm on Emusic lite.
Definitely want to add some more Joe Bonamassa. I now have 13 tracks in my library. Enjoyed them all.
As it finished with the Alvin Lee track, made me think of one of my Favourite Lps from way back.

Another great guitar player sadly missed.
