Bandcamp link. Check out 1st track, 'Highway Anxiety'
It is indeed a great track - but I am shamed that I had to check My Music on Emu before remembering it was already in the collection together with Deseret Canyon, Impossible Truth and the split with Six Organs of Admittance. Thanks to Doofy or ? for the original inspiration. If we had 240 hour days i might just conceivably be on top of these important matters.
Thanks, @Plong42, got to this via dipping in to that Forrest Fang album; there's a couple of titles at Projekt that are free/NYOP right now, including two Roach albums.
Nicholas Payton's new Afro-Caribbean Mixtape, as posted above by @rostasi. Even from a guy who has hopped around a bit, it is something new and different
I hardly ever look at the digital side to my Wire subscription - which is silly because I miss out on things like this here mix by Adrian Sherwood and Pinch. It feels like a lifetime ago since I went to my one and only Notting Hill Carnival and watched Sherwood live mixing Lee Perry on the back of a flat bed truck (Perry wearing a Karate outfit and swinging a claw-hammer over his head oh and a marijuana leaf plastered to the top of his head) happy days.
This is a good example of why giving away music leads to sales. I downloaded Animism free/NYOP and loved it. I came back to Bandcamp and ordered a CD of this new album (and grabbed a few older albums from eMusic).

ETA, this is great. Picked it up on a used CD on Tuesday.
And I do mean gnarly not nearly ;-)
Very spacey ambient. NYOP @bandcamp.

Release date: 5 May 2017
Prompted by this NYT article, took a look at the Latin Jazz Grammys and discovered the above
Leyland Kirby - Breaks my Heart Each Time
Al Jarreau - Look to the Rainbow Live in Europe
RIP Mr Jarreau,
ETA, I had not heard this before. To my surprise, I found it utterly mesmerizing.
New from Forrest Fang, Projekt Records @Bandcamp.
