All the Way is a collection of radical re-workings of traditional and
jazz standards such as “All the Way”, “You Don't Know What Love Is”, and
“The Thrill Is Gone” (made famous by Chet Baker).
It also includes a solo piano interpretation of Thelonious Monk's “Round
Midnight”, and live voice and piano interpretations of the American
traditional “O Death” and the country song, “Pardon Me I've Got Someone
to Kill”.
- Intriguing and repulsive at the same time. (as always - AFAIC)
A powerful synthesis of electronic sound and afro-caribbean language, ÌFÉ is a bold new project from Puerto Rico based... African American drummer/producer/singer Mark Underwood, aka Otura Roso Mun. Underwood, an Ifá priest in the Yoruba religion, has been a vanguard artist in the Puerto Rican music scene producing critically acclaimed albums and songs for many of PR's most important musical voices.
MM&W sometimes delight me, sometimes kind of lose me, so I let this sit on my save for later list for quite a while. Should have clicked sooner - liking it a lot.
I started listening to Kammerflimmer Kollektief during my intensive ambient/electronic phase, and kind of liked it. I am coming back now after several years of jazz listening, and now I love it.
Hibernate Sampler Volume 8 Free/NYOP I think this is a particularly fine volume in the series. Lots of really nice tracks. (Or maybe I am just happy to see the sun this morning - I seem to be really liking everything I listen to.)
Well, these are the last of them. I really enjoyed hearing them all once more & I just added the last 2 with my booster bonanza. I'm really looking forward to this evening's listen while I continue to fix each album in the iTunes library and delete 14 years of odd/free singles I've never bothered to fill out. That's certainly taking a lot longer than I thought...I keep getting lost in what I've been listening to. Oh well, makes for a great winter project. Currently editing Ry Cooder's Paradise And Lunch so I'm just about through the Rs. Mind you, I only really started editing when I got to the Is, I was just getting artwork and deleting singles up til then.

Ps. I don't have that Nels Cline collaboration yet, but look forward to adding it to the library one day.
