Boli Group is a new ensemble spearheaded by Copenhagen based composer and producer Asger Hartvig. Responsible for some of the most fearless and intriguing works to come from the city in recent years, Hartvig is as imposing as he is mysterious, and his debut release for Posh Isolation makes no concessions. . .
By the way, though the release date is listed as next week, the Jon Irabagon/Dr. Quixotic's Traveling Exotics album I mentioned above is already available as digital download on Bandcamp.
Hardy Fox grew up in Texas. After college he moved to San Francisco
reveling in the free love days of 1967-68. He co-founded the much loved
cult band, the Residents, where he was primary composer.
Hardy
retired from The Residents in 2015 but continued to compose for the
group through 2017. In addition to his work with that band, he has
recorded as a solo artist under various names including Charles Bobuck,
Combo de Mechanico, Sonido de la Noche, Chuck, TAR, among others. Now he
works simply as Hardy Fox.
This looks like it will be quite interesting... Release date is June 29 on Blue Note (so won't be available on eMusic or Bandcamp).
"On June 29, Charles Lloyd & The Marvels + Lucinda Williams will
release Vanished Gardens (Blue Note), a transcendent new album that
presents the fascinating collaboration between NEA Jazz Master
saxophonist and composer Charles Lloyd and acclaimed GRAMMY-winning
singer and songwriter Lucinda Williams."
The Hilde Marie Holsen album is already available on eMusic (Hubro Records). Pretty interesting stuff, too. Sort of what Jaimie Branch might sound like if she was Norweigan... (e.g. Trumpet + lots of electronic effects)

Yup ! . . . and it's certainly both new and notable
Taken from Enter Silence, the new album by Bremen. Due out on Blackest Ever Black in July 2018.

Another Hubro winner. Hard to believe it's out on Emusic 3 months early; or is that another error ;-)
