Next up from the forgotten box of old CDs that I'm revisiting stuff from:
Polyphonic Spree - "Together We're Heavy" and "The Beginning Stages of..."
I had forgotten all about this band, and it's a shame, because putting their music on while driving into Lexington on a cool Autumn evening was exactly the kind of uplifting music I needed on a night when some random fun & happiness was essential to me feeling better.
Apparently they've put out a couple albums since last they were on my radar. I expect to be purchasing those shortly.
R.I.P. KIM LARSEN (1945 - 2018) Kinda creepy. Just after finishing
the score for the experimental movie "Fiaskomonologerne" which premiered
last week, the Danish singer/songwriter Kim Larsen dies, 72 years old. Just
like Larsen became a huge part of all Danes lives - despite their age,
status or religion - he also became a part of our movie. During the
process of the movie we decided to include an adaptation of Larsens song
'Sirenesangen' for the end credits featuring the 3 actors on vocals.
The song just made perfect sense in relation to the story about success
and failure. Now seems like the right time to share it with you. TAK KIM!
