On to the As. Finding Emusic, this series and @kargatron's Experimental Thread have really redefined the last 17 years of my musical life. I'm sure I've heard a Cicada in one of these... An Anthology Of Noise & Electronic Music
Seventh And Last A-Chronology 1930-2012 (today's garden soundtrack. There's heavy equipment in the neighbourhood as we undergo urban renewal so these should fit right in.)
Ps I'm having an unusually tough time trying to post today, darned computer keeps making too many errors! Checked the time- this may take a while.
Before he got his doctorate, I guess. A young George Benson on guitar
I was surprised to see a reference to 17-year cicadas emerging this year, as I thought that just happened a few years ago. Now I learn that there are several "broods" across the US - all east of the Rockies, I guess. Everything you need to know can be found at http://www.cicadamania.com/where.html
"Three Demos is a very unique release, featuring the very first demo recordings for songs from Julee Cruise’s initial LP with David Lynch and Angelo Badalamenti, Floating Into the Night.
These early versions are fascinating glimpses into the genesis of what became Floating Into the Night and the minimal key ingredients that made the material alchemize. An early version of the album opener “Floating” originally began with a stunning spoken-word intro later dropped entirely from the album version. A revelation in their overarching simplicity, the three-song collection is devoid of the LP’s additional arrangement flourishes, and yet still manages to present the same emotional depth charge with only voice, synthesizer and lyric." - released August 17, 2018 by Sacred Bone Records
And the following 6 other releases by the man known mainly as Vladislav Delay.
I'm still wondering if I should "Do the Right Thing" and at least suspend my Emu account in the next few days (or just kill it - but boy with my 2-4-1 200 tracks / month Grandfathered plan, well that's a toughy.
Also testing this site as nowt much has happened in the last few hours. (i.e. Hello!!)

Terry Hall - The Collection
I am not actually enjoying this as much as I expected to. Good playing but it's a bit too unvaried in pace and texture.
