AMG says "Since they first burst onto the Australian music scene in 1984 with their debut album, Big Name No Blankets, the Warumpi Band has been at the forefront of the Australian Aboriginal rock movement. The band plays a hard-driving blues-rock in both English and their native language. They often use their music to promote Aboriginal rights and causes."
And what better to make me feel really good during a bout of Covid than to listen to my 33 Porcupine Tree albums!
As AMG rightly says, "A U.K. band widely credited with bringing progressive rock back into vogue during the 1990s, Porcupine Tree embraced and explored those inspirations filtered through the lenses of sounds ranging from post-punk and metal to indie rock and electronic music."
"Even Less" has to be my all-time favourite song of theirs.
Heilung - Drif. Heilung is an "experimental folk music band made up of members from Denmark, Norway, and Germany. Their music is based on texts and runic inscriptions from Germanic peoples of the Bronze Age, Iron Age, and Viking Age." Per Wikipedia. A review of the album on Metal Injunction and Distorted Sound. Nothing really metal about this, though. Certainly experimental folk, often quite....creepy.
Fascinating to listen to an album for the first time in over 40 years, having forgotten how good it was. Or actually, perhaps realising that it is really good, for the very first time!
The Nazz first album from 1968, "Nazz". This was the group that launched Todd Rundgren's career.

That album, er, opens with Open My Eyes, despite amazing competition one of my favourite tracks on the original Nuggets compilation. 2m 45 seconds of pop perfection IMHO.
A gentle start to Sunday morning while I sip my tea. The *ahem* somewhat contrived cover art reminded me of Zappa / Mothers Burnt Weenie Sandwich of all things (Thank you Cal Schenkel).
Konitz plays his familiar cool alto on side one and for the first time a tenor horn on the second side.
Fantômes... Futurs by Kham Meslien I'm still loving the rich, warm sound on this as much as the playing. And it's my favorite album art of the year so far. My CD copy arrived from France.

The latter two are free/NYOP and pleasant. The first is the most striking and costs a little money.
