It's rather jolly. Is it a new piece ( I presume so)? It does remind me of their "disco phase" which upset people years ago.
Yes, it's an edited version of something from their new album (which I played from back in mid-January on the radio show). The only album that I can recall being disco would be "Merci" in 1984, but I'd hardly call it a "phase," but, yep, it wasn't a good move for them.

Which all took me back to my three favourite Magma albums - "Mekanïk Destruktïw Kommandöh", "Kohntarkosz" and "Kohntarkosz Anteria (K.A.)". A great listen for a sunny, autumn Melbourne morning.

Ah yes Merci, I have it somewhere. I have a habit of liking things that "true fans" of an artist hate for one reason or another. See also Bob Dylan's Self Portrait etc etc.
Many years ago a friend sat me down at his place to listen to this, thinking I'd connect immediately because of the similarity to some of Zappa's jazz/rock workouts of which we were both big fans. I just coulsn't see it at the time and was largely dismissive of the record. A year or two later I discovered either
We had a fine Haar this morning and it put me in a bit of a mystic mood. Here is a New Age cassette from 1984 full of synth (sounding more 74 than 84) with hammer dulcimer and guitar. So as the sun burns through the sea mist I'm centering my body energy, aligning my crystals and generally slowly getting my s**t together. Funny how the Orwellian nightmare of 1984 was also a commercial peak for New Age - or maybe not so strange. I think the whole thing is on YouTube if you want a listen.
The first ever gig I went to by a name jazz artist was a pub gig in Liverpool around 82-83 with old Cleanhead. I was in the second row and the guy right in front of me was smoking a fat cigar. I had a wretched unhealthy student cough that day. I nearly bust an eye-watering gut trying not to have a spasm while Eddie soloed.

Well, I never got a chance to see him live but that did getting me thinking back to the day when smoking was just normal if you went out. Thank goodness I've been 20 years now without my Drum tobacco. Ps. Thanks for the heads up on the Earthday Earth deal. It's kind of a sludgy day here so they'll make a good sound track for more clean-up in the garden.
@djh and @Germanprof thanks, your posts encouraged me to go back to my Earth albums bought years back when eMusic was going well. Mind you, you can’t do much better than the current $1 per album!
“The Bees Made Honey in the Lion’s Skull” is my favourite.
Eleuteria is the alias of composer, cellist and singer Eleuteria Arena. Classically-trained, she soon started to perform by singing and playing the cello, creating an intimate voice-cello duet.
Had a bad night, kept waking up with a headache and falling asleep to a recurring dream, waking up with a headache - repeat. So natural blowing the cobwebs away with this one.
