Definitely thanks for pointing out the White Denim price drop. Didn't listen to it when it first hit, but after hearing "I Start to Run" decided to check it out. Sounds great!
I grabbed Hibernaculum by Earth and noticed that the tracks are mislabeled. The first 3 tracks are from In The Pendulums Embrace by Oren Ambarchi. The 4th is from Boris. Just fyi. I informed support.
froggy - I see you REC'd the Matt & Kim remix. I love that track. For anyone else though, either Pitchfork or Stereogum (I want to say it was Stereogum) had it free a few weeks ago, so check there first!
Hey, thanks for mentioning Earth is on Amie. I recently received a couple strong recommendations for the Bees Made Honey album, which features Bill Frisell on guitar, and didn't think to check if Amie had it cheap. It's downloading as we speak. Quite honestly, based on the samples, I don't know that I'm gonna like it much. It sounds like walking through audio quicksand, but hell, for two bucks, I'll give it a shot. Maybe one day it'll grow on me.
@jonahpwll: You seem to like some music that is loud and ambient--the Pyramids/Nadja collaboration might by up your alley ( the track "Another War" would be a good test drive).

a couple more have dropped... but I noticed this one on the artist page that isn't (yet) listed on the 'new release' page: V.I.P. (Parts 1 & 2) (Live in Berlin)
Several albums by French tenor Tino Rossi are free.
edit: you *need* the Ave Maria album. seriously. This is probably what was playing when the
RCA dog was sitting transfixed in front of the record player.
I just discovered an artist named Bill Ricchini, whose chamber pop lies somewhere between Jeff Hanson and Elliot Smith, but with a more prominent Beatles/Beach Boy influence.
Good stuff if you like the genre - I picked up both of his albums.
He RECed all the tracks for People Eating People when it was free. I only RECed a couple of things that were already around 20 cents a track.
I was actually looking for that album Tuesday night, but it apparently dropped between the time I went to bed and when I checked again in the morning. There's always next week.
Various Artists, Horse Meat Disco Ok, my pick of the day, easy. Just absurd amounts of killer, sun-kissed roller disco on this. Bumping Chic basslines, cooing divas, cow bells this is a worthy successor in every way to Disco Not Disco and Disco Italia, Struts other two great compilations this year. If it wasnt iimmediately clear, I should not write about dance music, basically ever, because I resort to bullshit like sun-kissed roller disco, but dont let my herb-y new-jackness dissuade; this is great, great stuff.

I was sucked in by the hype and went for it.

so much for my free downloads for the night.

I'm shocked he's still beating you. You've been so close for days. What happened? Did you fall asleep?

Over the Rhine - Snow Angels
While you're at it, grab The Trumpet Child.
I love Over the Rhine. They may be the best thing that's ever happened to me.

Sounds pretty good so far.
Bonus fact: They live in my neighborhood. One of them almost bought the house next door a few weeks ago.
