  • "Holy hell". I was gonna post the exact same thing. I've got so much downloaded from AmieStreet and eMusic that I've never properly listened to that, while the price point is there, I'm not sure how much I might partake in this latest digital onslaught to my entertainment budget.
  • There are a whole bunch I want on there, but I'll have to limit it to the neighborhood of 5. That'll be tough.

Aw, hell, all those early Rolling Stones albums @$2 - have to get a few more.

Layla - Derek and the Dominoes - $2 if somehow you don't have this.

The very first album by Commander Cody and his Lost Planet Airmen - Lost In The Ozone - highly, highly recommended, especially Down to Seeds and Stems Again. Search by album title because he's got like 3 listings that don't like to appear at once.

edit: a lot of Chess albums - Muddy, Wolf, Bo, Chuck Berry.....
Doyle Bramhall II - Doyle Bramhall II
    David Grisman - Hot Dawg
  • Dang! There goes another $50 I wasn't planning to spend.

Lots and lots of great Jazz -the Billie Holiday Commodore master takes fills a gap for me.
Some Good Reggae - Marley, early Toots and Burning Spear
Ray Charles' classic ABC albums are all on sale
Lots of good Chess comps (but not all) - will pick up Billie Stewart, and Ko Ko Taylor.
Elvis Costello's good albums are all on sale (split under two listings)
U2 is pretty much all on sale.

For you old folks, there is now a chance to cheaply replace your aging vinyl copy of Breakfast in America....
  • 7digital Is A RIP-OFF

They charged me $4 for like 8 albums over the last week and now they're all $2 - SWINDDDLLLLLEEEEE!
I'm calling the Attorney General's office, the White House, Congress, and the ACLU!!!!!!!
I could have gotten twice as many albums - SWINDDDLLLEEEE!

(in fond memory of all those many entertaining whiney complainers)
  • RIPP-OFF indeed!

I'm so not going to be able to limit myself to 5. Going to use this to fill in the Mos Def/Kanye type hip hop I don't have. Plus, and I'm almost ashamed to admit this, I have no M.I.A. so that will soon be seriously rectified. Beyond that....there....is....so....much.

  • It's actually getting to the point that I hope albums I want AREN'T on sale. I've got 11 hours of Pete Seeger and Woody Guthrie to listen to for @#$%'s sake! Give me a break!
  • Sweet, The Avalanches. I am in serious need of that album.

    Craig
  • me too! but I can't look away!
  • I'm just trying to decide between The Ultimate Collection and The Definitive Collection.
  • They both have "Rhythm of the Night" so you can't go wrong.

Seriously, in the mid 80s I LOVED that song. Played that cassette all the freakin' time.

    Craig
  • The only thing keeping me honest is being on Macs, no DLM, and long DL times for those zipfiles - perhaps a good thing or I might have gotten a few more while they were $4.
All those Millenium Collection best of's look to be on sale.
  • I was going to post a link when I search for "The Definitive Collection", but that would be for housewives and little girls...
  • Anyone else have problems getting their albums today? I put 10 in my cart and paid with paypal. They deducted $20, but then their server gateway crashed as I was being rerouted to the download page - only 2 of the albums showed up as being paid for.
  • Too many people trying to buy. I had just filled my cart - also $20.00, and it crashed on me when I tried to go to my cart. I haven't been able to get into the site for at least 30 minutes.

I did 4 earlier and 2 just now - no problems. It's those lonnnnnngggg download times for the zipfiles keeping me under control. They need to be done before I head home. FWIW, I'm feeling that DSL sucks - this never takes this long at home on cable.

Well, scratch that no problem - just lost the download after like a freaking hour crawling along like some invertebrate puke - have to try again later. Oh, the price of dirt cheap!
  • OMG, they are killin' me here. (And I am a wee bit tweaked at seeing 80% of the purchases I've made from them drop to $2.)
  • I got sucked into the $2 sale as well...

    DJ Shadow - The Outsider
    Dr. Octagon - Dr. Octagonecologyst
Duke Ellington & His Orchestra - Latin American Suite
Duke Ellington - The Afro-Eurasian Eclipse
    M.I.A. - Arular

Filling in some gaps and the two Duke albums and the M.I.A. I had lost in a hard drive failure.
  • So far from the $4 sale I grabbed:
Stevie Wonder - Songs in the Key of Life
Elis Regina/Antonio Carlos Jobim - Elis & Tom
Karen O and The Kids - Where The Wild Things Are
Yeah Yeah Yeahs - It's Blitz!

    For 2 bucks:
Florence & The Machine - Lungs
    Antonio Carlos Jobim - Wave
    PJ Harvey - White Chalk
PJ Harvey / John Parish - A Woman A Man Walked By
Thin Lizzy - The Definitive Collection
    Sigur Ros - Takk...
PJ Harvey - Stories From The City, Stories From The Sea
    Etta James - At Last
    Carla Bruni - Quelqu'un M'a Dit

Also grabbed the Woody Guthrie and Pete Seeger box sets for $7.77 (each has over 100 songs).

And now I've been reminded of the DJ Shadow I'm missing...

From the $4 sale I got Them Crooked Vultures, Beck's Odelay (Deluxe) and the 40th anniversary edition of Get Yer Ya-Ya's Out (which is back up to full price, making me feel better about TCV and Beck dropping to $2).

From the $2 sale I got 7 albums:

Thin Lizzy: Dedication -- The Very Best of Thin Lizzy (edited because I initially put down from memory that I bought The Definitive Collection, but this one got a better review on AMG)
    Queen: Night at the Opera
    Queen: Day at the Races
Queens of the Stone Age: Lullabies to Paralyze
Queens of the Stone Age: R
Queens of the Stone Age: Era Vulgaris
    Rolling Stones: Metamorphosis

I have to stop looking for more.
  • For me (all $2):

    M.I.A. - Arular
    M.I.A. - Kala
Mos Def - Black on Both Sides
    Kanye West - Graduation
    Kanye West - Late Registration
The Rumble Strips - Welcome to the Walk Alone
The Avalanches - Since I Left You
Ida Maria - Fortress 'Round My Heart
    Morrisey - Years of Refusal
Queens of the Stone Age - Songs for the Deaf
Michael Frenti & Spearhead - All Rebel Rockers

I'm not allowed to go back to 7digital for as long as this sale is going on.

Took for flippin' ever to download.

    Craig
  • Have NOT been able to get back in, and I have kept trying. Once all you guys get finished with downloads, maybe it will work, but I fear the sale will be off by then.
  • mommio,
I didn't have any issues accessing 7digital this evening. I finally broke down about 2 hours ago and put about $42.00 worth of stuff in my cart and checked out without any issues. Currently downloading some of it. I won't finish it anytime soon and will have to see about fetching the rest tomorrow. I wish I could suggest a solution to you but I have no idea what it might be that is causing you grief. Good luck.

I've been doing OK with them also this evening after some issues this afternoon on the DSL at work.

Other assorted findings on sale - Cardigans - 3 albums. Lots of CCR.
White Zombie albums. Every, yes, every Rob Zombie album. Bunch of Marilyn Manson. I've been meandering while stuff downloaded.

Got 1 Joe Pass (many at $2), 3 Kenny Burrell, and 2 Wes Montgomery.
  • Could anyone recommend Leadbelly's Last Session? It's a great deal, but I'm hesitant to pull the trigger on it.
  • Get it - it's great. AMG only gives it 3 stars, but it's 5 star material.
  • I finally got in around midnight - wasn't at all slow at that point. I may go back for more today. I suspect dialup didn't help my case earlier in the evening.
  • >Got 1 Joe Pass (many at $2), 3 Kenny Burrell,
    > and 2 Wes Montgomery.

Like the 12 days of Christmas, jazz style.

I have been the model of restraint, and only grabbed the four CD Jimi Hendrix set and a Astrud Gilberto album.
  • I bow to your will power Plong42!

    Craig
  • I fell into the 7digital quicksand last night and just emerged. Got all my missing Stones albums (between Ya-ya's and Steel Wheels), filled in some Tom Waits, Stevie Wonder, Cash, Elvis Costello, GNR, Townshend/Who, wow, wow, wow, wow. It will take me months to listen appropriately to all this stuff.
