Emu Boo Boo? 244 tracks/12 credits!

edited January 2010 in General
Sifting through some recent additions and found this Stax/Volt The Complete Singles 1959-1968. After searching through the other Stax/Volt offerings, I feel this is a mistake as it seems to include all 244 songs of the 9 volume set.

So if you're interested, grab it while you can!

If you like jazz and happen to not already have this, grab asap! 12 credits!

    Ornette Coleman Complete Atlantic Recordings

John Coltrane - Heavyweight Champion: The Complete Atlantic Recordings
  • Confirmed. Just bought it. 244 tracks for 12 credits.
  • as posted on the eMu MB: Ray Charles - Pure Genius - The Complete Atlantic Recordings 1952-1960

12 credits ... and I finally broke down earlier this year and bought the physical box. Oh well.
  • 99 Monkees for 12 nps...

Looks like the same problem they've had at every other online site. The Rhino box sets initially get marked as single discs. Gotta catch them all.
  • Heard complaints from the Young fans out there, but maybe it's worth it for this price...
  • Holy....

    Craig
  • Of course with eMu's payouts, this mistake may be even more Grievous...
  • This is amazing
  • Regarding GP's associates there are 2 boxes by a Songbird with silver hair.
  • Jeezuz, talk about rubbing it in.
  • Thanks BigD, she's been a favorite of mine for years, and now I have these on my computer.
  • I'm not entirely sure the box sets are a mistake. We'll soon find out, I guess...on the Sony drop, they had certainly pulled the Dylan box by this time. Raymond clued me in to that one!

so far I've gotten Paul Simon, Hommage a Nesuhi, Neil Yong, and Ornette. Sorry Nanker and rest of the world, hopefully someday soon!
  • Just Another Band From East LA - 12 credits.

They're a mistake. Remember when Rhapsody opened their mp3 store and we were finding many of these same titles for $10 or less. After a few days, they were all corrected.

That said, I'd just canceled my free...no, please don't go...month and now I'm back in for a Connoisseur. Le sigh.

And, I'd run, don't walk, if you want any of this stuff. Everyone posting their finds on the eMusic Msg Brd is sure to make the changes sooner rather than later.

    In for (so far):
Duke Ellington - Complete Reprise Recordings
    Steve Reich - Works 65-95
Neil Young - Archives Vol. 1
Where the Action Is! LA Nuggets
Big Star - Watch the Sky

Which leaves me with 15...what to do? Where to go?
  • Psst! If you get the new Swell Season at eMu, you can get a 2nd live CD with it for free! But you didn't hear that from me...
  • I wish eMu was like Amie and I could buy now and download later.

    Craig
  • Would you waste one of the four redownloads?
  • Not sure how that work. I'll have to consider it. With everything going on I'm not sure they'd be able to fix all this in the six or so hours anyway.

    Craig
  • Hoping for the best for you, Craig, work-bound as you are! All others, I would encourage you to complete those DLs asap. When I did get the Dylan box, the DL was completing even as the set was pulled from eMu.

I'm just downloading the boxes I want now on my work computer, to make sure I get them before the prices change. I'll use one re-download later, after I get home, to add them to the rest of my music library. Pretty simple. Once you download, they're yours and you have the limited re-download option even if the prices go up. Not worth it to me to take a chance by waiting.

I rejoined eMu this morning when the new arrivals info was posted. Took the 75 free downloads offer and ran with it. Too bad I have many of the great box sets already, but I'm still getting a bunch of amazing deals.

I'm still on the fence about that LA Nuggets box. Anybody who has it care to chime in?
  • Well I'm giving it a shot. We'll see how it goes.

    Craig
  • Hopefully this works. I went with The Ramones - Weird Tales of the Ramones, Neil Young - Neil Young Archives Vol 1, The Monkees - Music Box, and Various Artists Only in America: Atlantic Soul Classics.

    Craig
  • Not quite so monumental, but Aretha, Otis Redding, and Wilson Pickett all have 60 track sets for 12 credits.

I would try the buy now download later if that is your only option - I did that with the Dylan set. But be care to download them ASAP - the Dylan set got moved out of my MyCollection after about 2 days. Worst case scenario would be that they credit you the downloads if you have had a chance to download the tracks.
  • frogkopf! How you been?

I wish I'd seen the Wilson Pickett. Oh well.

    Craig
  • Alsohe Spinners and Joe Turner
  • I'm doing good - I've been laying off the computer for the last month or so - partially due to being busy, partially due to having my LASIK redone last month, and partially because I've been enjoying my new TV, PS3 and Wii a bit too much.
  • Craig get the Pickett and any others while you can - that's why God invented booster packs.
  • I don't think I can get more than the 1 booster by the wife. I refresh on Thursday, so if it's still available, great. If not, oh well.

I understand laying off the computer. I should do more of that.

Well, so much for more listening and less collecting, but I'm tapped. The venerable DLM 3.0 on my aged laptop will take the rest of the afternoon to finish downloading what I've gotten since I got to work, so I have to chill. That doesn't include the 5 I hit at home before I left. Lordy Mercy! It will be nice to have regular albums to look for - I saw a bunch already, not to mention the Neko albums I want. A bounteous day indeed.
Which Pickett are we talking about? I already have Man And A Half - heartily recommended.
