That House That Ahmet Built does help relieve the pain but the loss of L.A.Nuggets really smarts - I've been eyeballing that for months since there was a momentary misprice elsewhere I missed out on.
I'm surprised that the 4 CD set by Genesis is still up. Not my favorite artist by a long shot, but it has enough nostalgia value to be worth 12 credits.
Still a great early Drifter's collection to be had,and I'm eying that Bob Newhart set....
Most of the big Rhino collections do nothing for me. Their deluxe-reissues, with generous bonus material, are ace, tho.
There are some Rhino box-sets I love, e.g., Left Of The Dial (the 80s college-rock set), but they haven't been made available at eMusic (yet, at least).
Some Atlantic/Rhino Jazz titles are showing up with album pricing, btw. Kind of disappointing, hopefully they will drop at least to the 9 DL price point for titles like this (Short album with tracks of 10+ minutes.) Meanwhile, there are other album price deals to be had, eg, the Duke private collection discs and this Lenny Tristano set.
The Rhino drop was good timing. I was in Bismarck visiting, and they still had 8 $30 100 download cards on the shelf. I bought six of them, and quickly burned through 3 or them.
I"m ready to plow into some of that Atlantic Jazz. Despite the album pricing there are still a bunch of classics going for 7-8 credits.
And the Complete Atlantic Mingus is still 12 credits, for some of the classicest of classic jazz around. Seriously, if anyone is still sleeping on that (which, granted, includes very few jazz fans), grab it.

Even though I bought the box set when it first came out, it's such a good deal I'm tempted to download it - ditto for the MJQ box.
That MJQ box is giving me serious fucking conniptions. I typically will almost never ever ever buy a jazz compilation; I'd rather just buy the individual albums. The thing is it's likely I'll never really be that much into MJQ even though Milt Jackson is a personal favorite, so (the thinking goes) there's actually a chance that I will accumulate most of the individual albums (those I want, at least), but damn, that's a real good deal that box set, just 12 credits, and I like MJQ enough that I don't think it's something I can do without, but it is mp3, and I prefer to avoid buying my jazz in a download format, but really, am I gonna see the physical box set cheap enough to justify buying it, no, probably not, but if I spend 12 dls on this box set that I'm only tepidly interested in even though I know I'd really enjoy listening to it, those credits I spend are credits I can't spend on something else that I want more and will listen to more, but, man, it's non-stop Milt Jackson, and I'm really getting back into the vibes sound again... and so on. That was the abbreviated version. What to do, what to do...
"something else that I want more and will listen to more"...listen to yourself, man! As for me, by God I am going to resist both the MJQ and Mingus. I have got half of these recordings already, including a previous 2-disc Atlantic Mingus set, *plus* I lucked into Hommage a Nesuhi during the great box set massacree. I'll likely wind up with more of the original albums eventually anyway. Meanwhile, have been spending on other stuff less well represented in my collection...the Replacements, Television, and the Aretha "Amazing Grace" set. One left, could go Emmylou or Gram Parsons...on the other hand may go back to my regularly scheduled S4L!
mommio, the Aretha is marvelous of course. This is the whole session (intro's, retakes, etc), so depending on your patience for such stuff...I love it, personally.
Best jump if you want it...it's still 12 credits at the moment, but prices are rising on all these sets this morning! "Passions of a Man" is now 72.
The box sets that were incorrectly priced and pulled are coming back this morning. Hint: if you started downloading a box last week that got pulled before you completed, check the listing, because it may show up as something you already purchased, which means you can re-download the tracks you missed. Worked for me this morning. :-)
The only ones that have been reposted for me so far are the ones that I successfully downloaded the first day. None of the ones I got refunds for have popped up again yet.
It looks like someone spilled the beans over at eMu, so I suspect they'll fix that little glitch before reposting more of the sets.
>It appears the Steve Reich "Works" still hasn't returned.
I check every few days since that is the last of the items I bought that has not been re-posted. Well, the Stax set, but I think that was reposted in 8 volumes rather than the single 244 track version.
There were several Atlantic 60th Anniversary collections that disappear the first day that looked good but haven't reappeared either. I'm hoping they come back and that the price is right, since presumably they were remastered and sound great.
The Stax set was available as both the complete thing (which I grabbed) and the individual volumes. It's possible that they just aren't bothering to repost the box set since all of the material is still there.

Oh -- I skipped the Gram Parsons -- I think I have all of it on CD, purchased many years ago.

Yes. Wow. I'm going to talk about this until tomorrow morning, but yeah, it's happening again.
There are still two more that I hope to see reposted (A Coltrane box and the Steve Reich "works" set).
It looks like someone spilled the beans over at eMu, so I suspect they'll fix that little glitch before reposting more of the sets.
One thing I noticed is that if I want to download any of them I CAN'T pay full price for them. It's an interesting glitch.

I grabbed the House that Ahmet Built, which is a nice collection (although one or two tracks are out of place). Hope the rest make it back.
