What are you listening to right now?
Just wrapped up...
Fabrice Sotton - "Terre Inconnue"
Peaceful piano trio for watching the sun come up.
Picked it up on emusic last month.
Now Playing...
Bram Stradhouders - "Tonelist"
More early morning music. Guitar player kinda doing jazz, kinda doing electronica new-agey stuff.
Picked it up on Amie last week. So good so far.

- A really strange chapter in music history.
E.S.T. - "Strange Place for Snow"
I love listening to this album, but it still breaks my heart to remember that he died way too young and, with him, all that great music he would've one day recorded. Svensson, along with Brian Blade, pretty much got my head turned around to looking at today and tomorrow for great jazz, and stop looking back over my shoulder all the time for music recorded decades ago. R.I.P., buddy.
Creepy John Thomas.
this is how i'm spending my second childhood. i also just bought my second pair of dingo boots since 1972.
i am out of control.
Dot Tape Dot - "Tomavistas"
It's my soundtrack for the falling snow.
Dan Laurin, Jacob van Eyck's Der Fluyten Lust-Hof (finally to disc 4)
Earlier:
Robin Grey, Strangers with Shoes
Disinterested - "Behind Us"
This has become my first of the morning album, which is a very happy surprise for me; I was on the edge about buying it at all in the first place for fear that I would bore of it quickly. I'd have been satisfied with a result of simply enjoying playing the album from time to time. That it's now a regular feature on the stereo pleases me greatly.
Efterklang - "Tripper"
I'm pretty sure at this point that I'm gonna dl their entire catalog in the next few months. So much for diversity in my purchasing methodology.
Plastic Materials by Marina Rosenfeld
Four Tet - There Is Love In You
Just what I needed as a follow up to Midtown 120 Blues; warm, expansive, with tendencies towards micro-house. Easily going to be one of my favorites this year.
That was a unexpected shift, but I'm kinda digging it now.
An early favorite for my 2010 top ten list.

John Hollenbeck's Quartet Lucy
This was part of the CRI drop at Amie, but I hadn't gotten around to listening to it last night. Again this morning, I am very intrigued by this "jazzy" song cycle, particularly "Foreva".
- Yes Quartet Lucy is great.
- So is the one I listen to right now:
Fausse Joie by Les Poissons Autistes
- The autistic fish ???
I'm currently listening to Malachai - The Ugly Side of Love. It is also excellent.
