Have just been escaping from cold/wet Melbourne to warmer climes at Yamba in N.S.W. and Peregian Beach in Queensland. Whilst there, I have made some new mates!
Australian White Ibis which is commonly known as the Bin Chicken because of its love of foraging through rubbish bins!
Australian Brush-Turkey also known as a Scrub Turkey because it loves digging up people's gardens!
@peterfrederics My wife and I found it hilarious when visiting Sydney when a white ibis landed on the table at a cafe in the botanical gardens and tried to get our scones. I am used to it being sparrow-sized birds that do that.
