Blues legend BB King has died in Las Vegas at the age of 89, his lawyer has said..
Brent Bryson told the Associated Press King died peacefully in his sleep on Thursday at his home in Las Vegas.
The one-time farmhand brought new fans to the blues and influenced a generation of musicians with his heartfelt vocals and soaring guitar on songs such as The Thrill Is Gone.
King sold millions of records worldwide and was inducted into the Blues Foundation Hall of Fame and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
He played a Gibson guitar he affectionately called Lucille and was a mentor to scores of guitarists including Eric Clapton.
He was awarded his 15th Grammy in 2009 in the traditional blues album category for One Kind Favor.
One of the all time greats, B B King will be missed. I was fortunate enough to see him play in the mid 1980s, near his peak. He put most, if not all, blues guitarists in the shade that night. Superb
The last of his generation, the third King Of The Blues has gone to join Freddy and Albert in six-string heaven. RIP, B.B. For me his 50's recordings are still my favorites.
Good to see BT back here - I miss his comments and recommendations particularly from the country and folk scenes.
RIP Cilla Black. Probably not that well known in the States??? But she had the Beatles as her backing band on her first live performance and was the highest selling female artist in the UK in the 60s. Better known to many in the UK in her later role as a TV show host in the 80s and 90s.

"Stand By Me" will never not be a great song.
