The point is: various artists presenting their own vision, thoughts, etc. on term "micronoise" in a 1:00 sound piece (micronoise standart length as we see it). You probably wondering why we called the compilation "Hitler 2080" and i must say it's totally a random word and we are not nazis or something but somehow that word combination is connected to micronoise like a thing from future, an impossible thing, like that feeling when you gazing into the night sky full of shiny stars. So in general micronoise could be something between glitch/electroacoustic/microwave/micro techno/fast forwarded soundscapes/8 bit/bleepy/chaotic/clicks and cuts/random flashbacks/synthburgers/noisy/noisz/noisx/etc etc etc. But in the end we'll see in which exact way every artist sees it.
@Brighternow Yup. Just tried again at home and got the same message in Firefox, so it's not just the office setup. I then tried IE and it did indeed let me in. Not that there was much to see in the end. Perhaps it's just a very poorly coded website.
EMMANUELLE PARRENIN sings (in French) and plays the hurdy-gurdy, various harps, the thumb piano, the spinet des Vosges, the dulcimer, singing bowls. Founding figure of the revivalist folk scene in France, she toured everywhere and played with Gentian or Melusine, as well as Didier Malherbe, Vincent Segal or Alan Stivell.
She is however best known for having recorded thirty years ago an enigmatic and beautiful album, "Maison Rose" highly sought on E-bay: where ultimare post-folk meets trad and experimental electro-acoustic.
Now she dusts off her instrumentarium to reinterpret some of her old songs, as well as new ones co-written with French agitator Fl
Two albums that are self-described as experimental folk:
Monsters, Whores and More by Fledderjohn
Sea shanty-inspired folk songs mixed with ambient textures. Solid writing. Free/NYOP.
Some Monsters Die and Other Return by Marina Gallardo
Acoustic songs with interesting textures, which remind me of some Language of Stone material. Definitely for fans of non-English speaking women who sing with fragile voices. Free/NYOP.
For now, both are going into my personal Bandcamp SFL. (I wish Bandcamp would create shopping carts so that several albums could be purchased as once.)
Saul Stokes - Outfolding
A suitably warm and gentle accompaniment to sitting in snivelling misery waiting to feel well again. Very nicely textured album.
@Brighternow - that Greg Haines does sound interesting. US-dwellers, note that the album-only tracks on emu are not so on Amazon, making the whole $3.48 if purchased from a combination.
Comments
This album changed my life. Seriously.
Atlas by Tim Hecker
I think this was about a dollar on Amiestreet.
Gordian Knot, self-titled
Excellent instrumental prog rock. Srikara Tal is utterly mesmerizing.
Probably free. Worth more than that. Also probably owe someone here for the rec.
Streaming:
