I feel like I've had that problem before. I keep meaning to get over there and check out the 99 Miles Scott/Harris/Sanchez album. I'll see how my system reacts.
This looks promising. The personnel involved are certainly up to the task. The time given for the full album is wrong. If you hit the link to play the whole album you'll get all 51:43. This comes out today so the streaming may not last.
New album by Tinariwen. I haven't listened yet, as I just now found it and it's time for bed, but based on what they've done before I don't have any hesitation about recommending it anyway. And it has a little Nels Cline, too.
I can't believe how much of a struggle it is for me to get over to the NPR site and listen to some of these albums. There's several there I missed that I would've like to have heard... the David Murray, the Miles, even the Wilco (though my wife heard a song from the album that enraged her; but then again, she's never liked Tweedy at all, and even though she is arguably the sweetest girl on the planet, I would be at all shocked were she to walk up to him one day and, without saying a word, punch him in the mouth). Oh, and that Tiawarnen, would've liked to have given that a full listen, too.
Not sure why First Listen is such an obstacle for me. There's gotta be some sort of internet-age name for the malaise one gets for certain sites.
I'll diagnose: NPR is a pain to use. You have the choice of listening to the tracks singly, or the whole album without track titles. You can click all the tracks into the player and restart it from the beginning but it's not worth the trouble. Then there's the fact that the player is such a pig it makes iTunes look like a lightweight app. Maybe they're selling cloud computing time out the back door, courtesy of their users. It's enough to induce S.I.T.E.S in anyone.

I don't know how long it streams for.
Decent straight-ahead jazz. If the rest of the album sounds like what I've heard so far, I'll be picking it up.
You listening, AOL & Ambrose? Because you streamed the album, you picked up at least one sale. Thank you for the opportunity to hear it.
Ben Allison - "Action-Refraction"
I assume it's streaming through April 11th.
Haven't listened to it yet, but I'd be shocked if it was totally freaking awesome.

(Oops, wrong thread)
Okay, that really was pretty damn clever.
Dammit! I can't remember the last time I visited that excellent NPR First Listen page. S.I.T.E.S strikes again.
