Some of those albums from the sixties are short! Already playing this without realising I'd moved onto it
A few months ago I bought a boxed set of S and G CDs in a sale. I've not played this one that much, and it was the only LP of theirs that I didn't own way back. Beginning to like it more
Electric Counterpoint Version for Percussions, - normally played on distorted electric guitar, here played on marimbas and what sounds like steeldrums (oil barrels) - Totally brilliant.
- Also:
Six Marimbas Counterpoint & Vermont Counterpoint Version for Vibraphone
- After listening to the Steve Reich, I just had to grab this one also:
"The music was originally composed and recorded by Kuniko for soundtracks of a contemporary dance project choreographed by Megumi Nakamura. The tracks on this CD are selected by Kuniko for her live performance Sound Space Experiment. The live performance Sound Space Experiment - Steel Drum Works vol. 01 was premiered on March 26th, 2009 at Asahi ArtSquare in Tokyo, Japan for 5 performances in 3days. All pieces are performed with Industrial steel storage drums with various metal fabrications applied for exploring the possibilities of the steel drums and the wide range of sound dynamics.
It was released as a commemorative CD toward the world premiere of Sound Space Experiment on June 03, 2009."

(Out of morbid curiosity I just clicked on the link under "upcoming shows" on the album page for this record; apparently emusic thinks that if I like listening to a collection of 12k artists perform delicate electronica in a Japanese temple I will want to go to a show by the Drive-By Truckers.)

Every so often a little bit of 80s hair metal hits the spot. One of those times is today.
C.C. just picked up that guitar and is talking to me.

Looking for an image to post, it looks like this fine 70s ECM album is OOP/import only...except at Guvera. So, thanks Guvera!

So pretty. Apparently I was also playing this in the background:
I thought it sounded different, but they went together surprisingly well.
