Colorlist - "The Fastest Way to Become the Ocean"
-Really pretty prog-jazz. The two guys that make up the nucleus of this outfit make some intriguing stuff. I wish I'd known of them when I lived in Chicago. Charles Gorzynski and Charles Rumback. Also, Brian Citro works with them, too, the Salamander Ensemble, which I was fortunate enough to take a chance on from Amie St.
State River Widening - various albums
-Kind've ambient folk-rock. Guys like Keiron Phelan and David Sheppard are involved in this group. Peaceful bouncy music. I don't find it terribly challenging, goes well in the background while reading. I listen to their albums a whole bunch.

Serein forecast 5: - Free.
An introduction to the music of Colorlist. Their EP, "The Fastest Way To Become The Ocean", will be released through Serein on April 5th, 2011. All tracks here are taken from previous recordings
The Fastest Way To Become The Ocean will be the first 10" vinyl release in the Seasons 2011 series by Serein.
Colorlist is Charles Rumback (drums, synthesizer, electronics) & Charles Gorczynski (saxophones, harmonium, monome). Their work as Colorlist has rightly established these two players as important figures in the creative and improvisational jazz scenes of their home city, Chicago. Using both digital and traditional instruments, their music is often borne of improvised sessions, captured, layered and refined resulting in a cohesion often abandoned in totally improvised work
- Streaming a brand new album from my all time favourite band from Finland (both live and recorded) - from Bandcamp:
- 22 Pistepirrko plays fairly straight forward rock with fragile Neil Young'ish vocals. - From the first spin, this seems like their most brilliant album in their 20+ years career.
Once more. Of all the Waldron albums I have, this is perhaps the most pleasurable to hear. The engineering--whether it was done on the original recording or in the remastering--captures the mid and low ranges better than on any of the others. The playing is good, of course.
I've read that Like a Rolling Stone has been voted as the best Bob Dylan song ever by the aptly named Rolling Stone, so I just had to play it!! See http://www1.rollingstone.com/dylan/
"Music from the 2008 dance performance "Electric Girl" choreographed by Apostolia Papadamaki. The piece was first performed at Athens Thiseo Theatre and later at Kalamata Dance Festival and in Spain. Onstage were Blaine and dancer Xara Kotsali."
- (3 euros @ Bandcamp)

Chimurenga Electroacoustic Ensemble - S/T
This and Red, above, were issued as a pair. I prefer Red - it is less traditional than Rice

@BadThoughts, I am in mourning because I didn't grab the "long" Mal Waldron track at Amazon yesterday! They got wise, all tracks are album only now.
Second Nature by Atom Heart, Tetsu Inoue And Bill Laswell
Can't say this is one of my favorite Inoue albums. A bit murky and aimless for significant stretches.
Pygmalion by Slowdive.
On searching for the link, I found this one on Amazon, which is free and includes a completely different set of tracks.
