Back after a week or so away, lots to catch up on, and a need to download a few albums today before credits run out at emusic. I'll be looking at Jonah's AAJ and 17 dot inputs to help for some. Like you amclark I really like this album more than I thought I might
3ofmillions - Golden Calf "Debut release by Sydney improvising jazz trio featuring Adrian Klumpes (Triosk, Leaf Label), Abel Cross (Trio Apoplectic, Pure Evil Trio) and Finn Ryan (TheNOWnow's Splinter Orchestra) continuing on from the last Triosk record with more verve, tension and dynamics"
@Brighternow, I got In Between Words from Amie as well, also Periphery. I remember corresponding with them about how they had his name spelled two different ways so that it took some serendipity to find both albums. On first impressions, I think the new one is the best so far.
One of the tracks, Batounowa, has been the itunes' free track of the week over here. It will not surprise most people that it has had a lot of negative comments!
I've got no right click to do the image but this fine, so fine album is still only $4.40 over at eMu and it is so good - Savvy Sugar - The Pure Essence of West Coast Rock & Roll, one of the few survivors of the brief too good to last $4.40 series of albums from Fantastic Voyage that is still up over there.
- From my New World Records haul from Amie Street:
The Music of Life "Besides the beauty of music, there is the tenderness, which brings life to the heart.
For a person of fine feelings, of kindly thought, life in the world is very trying.
It is jarring, and it sometimes has a freezing effect.
It makes the heart so to speak frozen. In that condition one experiences
depression, and the whole of life becomes distasteful;
the very life that is meant to be heaven becomes a place of suffering.
If one can focus ones heart on music, it is just like warming something that was frozen.
The heart returns to its natural condition,
and the rhythm regulates the beating of the heart which helps to restore health of body,
mind, and soul, and bring them to their proper tuning.
The joy of life depends upon the perfect tuning of the mind and body."

Off to Norway for a few days tomorrow; lining up a place-appropriate diet of Pjusk, Jaga Jazzist, Biosphere, Serena-Maneesh...(Listening to Pjusk's "Sart" last time I was in Norway on a foggy morning in the countryside made the album make even more perfect sense).
(It's somewhat puzzling to me that I find I have quite a bit of Norwegian music, but to the best of my knowledge nothing at all from Sweden (and yes, that includes nothing by Abba). I wonder why.)
Welcome back to Europe, GP! Try some Swedish Jazz - EST comes to mind first, but I am sure Jonah will have other suggestions. And it is nothing like Abba!

Current 93 - HoneySuckle
Mazmoneth - Music by Mirrors
Yeah !
- Carla Torgerson's voice is more powerful and moving than it ever was. Maybe The Walkabouts best album so far.
This is glorious. Supposedly sketches for the Ravedeath album...but wow.
This is an excellent album. Thanks, Brighternow. (Also for the Hecker.)
- Welcome ! - I grabbed the In Between Words album from Amie. This is maybe even better.

Absolutely gorgeous.
Now:
I told my wife to wait--it would go on sale.

ETA: This inspired me to dig up this gem:
John Hollenbeck - Eternal Interlude
- @ Bandcamp.
On Vinyl, really loud. I think you people will understand it when I say, 180 gram vinyl sounds great.
