There are (or were) lots of good Swedish guitar-pop and shoegazey acts, by the way - The Wannadies were one of my favorite bands from the post-Britpop period (assuming there actually was such a period), but only their last album and a couple of EPs taken from that album are on eMu.
I Was a King are from there too, if I'm not mistaken.
I've been going through this week's Jonah's Picks on 17Dots. Downloaded this plus a couple more went into my SFL. A great way to find out about contemporary jazz releases - thanks Jonah
Described as Avant Garde Jazz by emusic. Not sure I'd agree with the jazz element - more vocal electronic rock for some tracks. But I like it! Only nearly 40 minutes and 7 tracks long, so only cost £2.94 /3.43 Euros, so probably therefore $7.99 or more in the States

- And: "sid vicious played a four-string fender bass guitar and couldnt sing
and everybody hated him except the ones who loved him
a ukulele has four strings, but sid did did not play ukulele
he did smack and probably killed his girlfriend nancy spungen
if only sid had had a ukulele, maybe he could have been happy
maybe he would not have suffered such a sad end
he maybe would have not done all that heroin instead
he maybe wouldve sat around just singing nice songs to his girlfriend . . . . .
Every couple of weeks I seem to go through a stretch where I listen to nothing but hip hop for a few days. Currently in the middle of one such stretch.
@Brighter thanks for posting the link to Amanda Palmer's "Ukulele Anthem".....definitely gonna have to buy that one.
The lyrics are great:

....so play your favorite beatles song
and make the subway fall in love
theyre only $19.95, thats not a lot of money
play until the sun comes up
and play until your fingers suffer
play LCD soundsystem songs on your ukulele
quit the bitching on your blog
and stop pretending art is hard
just limit yourself to three chords
and do not practice daily
youll minimize some strangers sadness
with a piece of wood and plastic
holy fuck its so fantastic, playing ukulele....

Actually makes me wanna go out and buy a ukulele on my way to work this morning. That probably won't happen but I know what to ask Santa to bring me for Christmas this year.

This is getting a LOT of ear-time in Scissorland!

Generic City by Yui Onodera & Celer. The fight with airport muzak is on.
I'm becoming a real one-trick pony when it comes to this whole spacegazey-guitar-pop-with-attractive-female-singer thing, aren't I.

I came in wondering what to play. Seeing elwoodicious' choice above - some John Coltrane, just right for an afternoon working at the computer...
Bliss - three Coltrane albums in a row!
