I had been thinking I should try a Kiss album for years, but Scissorman's post on the "records that influenced desert islands" really pushed me to finally grab this, so thanks Scissorman.
I realize I'm a little older than most of you guys, but...Kiss, huh? Have to say, back in the day, they would have been about last on the list of bands likely to attain musical legitimacy in three decades.
This coming from the guy who has come to appreciate the 70s sugary pop goodness of the BeeGees and even ABBA. Also once accused of being a music snob for not rocking out to Journey blasting out of the car stereo.
Meanwhile, just to firmly establish my old fart cred, now listening to:
You can't be the oldest here Doofy! I possibly hold that record. I admit that Kiss is off my radar, though. Just to prove my age I'll start the day with something from the Sixties
Recorded live in concert at the South Pasadena Conservatory of Music by Giovanni Di Simone, February 20th, 2010.
Don Preston: piano, acoustic bass, electronics, mini moog
Andrea Centazzo: gongs, cymbals, drums, mallet kat
"Former Frank Zappa pianist Don Preston and composer/improviser Andrea Centazzo play improvised music recorded live in concert, mostly based on a peculiar use of electronics and a fierce mix of double bass, piano, keyboards and percussion playing."

I downloaded this in February (not sure even if from emusic, Bandcamp or elsewhere), played it once and then ignored it. I can't remember it at all - a terrible thing to do! Probably recommended here?
Hey, you're welcome. That Espen Rud album really grew on me. At first, I put a "maybe" in the column next to it, but before long, I found myself really digging it and decided to include it in my weekly rec article. I'm gonna see if he wants to participate in the AAJ dotd, too.

I don't know that Kiss is legit - I do know that my listening doesn't make it so. But I do enjoy it.
@Brighternow - isn't it really late/really early in Denmark? Your hours often confuse me.
From this week's Jazz Picks, thanks Jonah
