White Night: Impressions of Norwegian Music

This is today's Advent calendar pick. Nice choral work on folk spirituals from Norway. It may not be everyone's taste, but the eClassical sale on BIS (50% off for one day) is far from disappointing.

  • I've now played Koppel et al Polar Expedition twice in my car and now on third time in last few days. I keep forgetting to change my ipod, so it keeps on playing. Seems somehow appropriate for the time of year! At home and now already half way through this

    Pretty--emotional--free!
  • Oh boy oh boy oh boy... I just love it when I discover that a favorite artist has a second album. Brian McBride's "When the Detail Lost Its Freedom" has been one of my favorite early early morning albums with all its peaceful blissed-out Kranky-ness. I don't know why I never thought to see if he had another album, but I just found out he has one from 2010...

...and it sounds so damn beautiful.
