...which I think has one of the more unsightly pieces of cover art in my collection. It looks as if it was made by an unsigned artist on bandcamp who made it themselves without graphics skills.
Bandcamp streaming: releases 01 April 2012
The guitarists: Robert Jürjendal, Tõnis Leemets, Markus Reuter, Mart Soo
- "The group, made up of four guitarists, took its name from Olivier Messiaen's famous composition and was formed in the year of his hundredth birthday. However, there is no claim made to be related to him or his music in any way".
As one who lives in a city with chronic/increasing gang problems, I personally would like to see Tupac's estate turned over to the Bureau of ATF.[/rant]
This one came up in a Bandcamp search for Kyle Bruckmann - (a Porter Records album from the freshly ripped @ Enusic):
- "The debut record from San Francisco-based songwriter, singer, and pianist Debbie Neigher. Debbie's intricate piano playing and deeply honest and provocative lyrics narrate six years of personal stories over these 10 tracks. The album was produced by John Vanderslice (Spoon), arranged by the Magik*Magik Orchestra (Death Cab for Cutie), and recorded on analog tape at San Francisco's haven for independent music, Tiny Telephone Studio."
I've stayed clear of this for a log time for similar, but different, reasons; I'm more offended by the thugs profiting from Tupac's playing with fire than by him himself; thug heroes are pretty common in hip hop anyway. But at that price my natural curiosity won out. It does sound great, however reprehensible the backstory may be.
It is the gang sign in that photo that sets me off. Idiot kid was shot dead not a mile from here last week after "flashing gang signs." And this week Amazon promotes an album glorifying that. Only $3.99! Terrific.
As for politicians, I would feel exactly the same if Rick Santorum was wearing a Dodger hat sideways.
Listening now: AAJ free mp3 playlist, sounds great! I'm interested in "James Farm," but the eMu price is ridic.

Showed up at mtraks last week.

Thanks, BN!

RIP Michael Davis.

Peter Gabriel Shaking the Tree
BT - I'm sure that you would like this, as it is very similar to Bellowhead in style.
Still $3.99 on Amazon! You know you want it, GP.
