I don't have much by him either - Sing Sing's near the top of my to get list. I have Vamonos, the one above, and Harlem River Drive; both are fantastic. Harlem River Drive is currently $4.99 at amazon. Sing Sing's a reasonable price at emu.
From Innova, but sadly not one of the free ones. Lots of fun though. Available on emusic. Or click on the image above to stream it at soundcloud.
The composing genius of Duke Ellington meets the ferocious energy of Jerry Lee Lewis meets the exploratory mind of Graham Reynolds in this album, with Gabriel Prokofiev, DJ Spooky, and others helping expand the vision. Seven songs done three completely different ways, one unified album.
(Found this while downloading the (Son of) Ligeti - thanks, BN.)
BT - they do it fairly slowly, in comparision with other tracks. I didn't realise it was a Canadian song, I'd assumed it was French (but obviously pretty close) because of the references to Cherbourg
It was written by Stan Rogers. You can hear it and the whole album in full at Borealis' website (wink). Canadian sailors did prey on American ships during the war. I interpret the song as an allegory about Canada stuck between US and UK
@Germanprof - I kept seeing this album pop up in the now listening thread, so I (finally) listened to the free track from eMu. Great stuff, bought the album this morning and am on my second listen-through.
My goodness ! - I did not see that coming, The Residents with spanish lyrics and without the harsh vocals from Mr. Skull . . . So much different from everything else from the band who never blinks.
I had £10 credit (ie 23 tracks) left at emusic to spend today; by judicious choosing I got 4 albums - this one, Blackbeard's Tea Party (above), plus the next two I'll play. OK two are around 45 minutes length, one is one track for 50 minutes, but one was full length. Not bad when you are selective. Thanks to BN for one recommendation and I think a couple were from recent Jazz picks from Jonah

Still one of my favorite series.

Various Artists - Polymorphic Convolutions
Well above average slice of West Coast downtempo electronica. Amie find.
