@Plong 42, you're welcome but thank BT, I was just following.
Am working my way through this 10 CD Nat King Cole box set - one of those overseas no frills 10 CDs in sleeves with no liner notes affairs (was cheaper when I got it) - but the music's real nice, trio stuff, some larger ensembles. I'll have to research the tracks to find out whose on them. The music might be a little sedate/dated for folks with more modern tastes but Nat was a superb musician.
Hmmm... I got Valium Aggelein off emu... Looks like its gone now though; sorry.
Now listening to - Japandroids - Celebration Rock. Sometimes it's true that tiny mix tapes is a bit too snarky, but their review on this totally sold me (well, that and the $3 amazon deal).
Haven't listened to recorded music in days, but today it didn't matter. Spent the day walking the center of Sydney and heard a whole string of great street musicians. The obligatory guy with a backbeat and a didgeridoo (very good, though), an amazing father/son jazz guitar duo (planning to record a CD in October), couple of young guys with a guitar and upright bass....all fabulous stuff. Really wish we had more of this kind of thing (and an actual city center to walk around instead of sterile malls) in Grand Rapids.
Carol King's songs for Maurice Sendak's Really Rosie: something the boy wanted (it's his birthday). I never heard these songs, but they are pretty good.
@BT - I watched that when I was a kid, and my parents bought me the record (which I still have!) I had a video of the show and made my kids watch it (they were unimpressed).
So good - it takes all my willpower not to slip an inappropriate adjective in between those first 2 words, because it is that good. Those angel wings on the gittar player, that's just crazy. None of these performances were "captured" one phrase at a time that's for.......sure.
Home slightly earlier than I thought, so I am listening to the Tour de France on TV in the background, whilst catching up with emails, emusers, emusic etc.
- "Recommended listening is at a low volume whilst occupied in doing nothing, starring into space, reading a book, daydreaming, doing the washing up, fixing broken objects, exercising, drawing, painting, thinking, sleeping or bathing. The object of this exercise is to be preoccupied by doing something else other than listening to the music. The sounds should not be digested but gently absorbed. Effectively you should only notice the music once it has stopped.... then replay"
- Andrew Liles.
My, this is good! I was lucky enough to download it while still free. Still, it's well worth the emusic or bandcamp price. Josh is now offering for free the new EP "Love & War, B-Sides and Remixes."

Currently indulging in a diversion of making some mixtapes, which got me on to listening to this album again.

For $2, it is pretty good.
(Igreg may give me a hard time over this one, but I contend its more Avett than Mumford.)
