  • I was thinking the same thing as Craig, but I copied and pasted it directly above and it looks fine.

Ah, thanks amc2 - Text was checked. Since I never change that setting I forgot it was there. Must have clicked it accidentally the other day.

ETA Re the Bowie, am I allowed to like the instrumental pieces best on an album by a great vocalist?
  • Well the instrumentalist involved is no slouch...
  • Bowie puts out amazing instrumentals, especially in that Berlin period. Both "Heroes" and Low are chock full of fantastic examples. I don't know that I've actually heard Lodger so I'm not sure about it.

I'm actually feeling almost human today. Went to bed Friday night, got up this morning. Actually put clothes on and stuff. Feels like an achievement.

  • Greg, I remember the Uthanks doing that at the folk wards for Radio 2 and thinking it was one of those brilliant music moments, the album is onefor the collection. If you have not heard the June Tabor version treat yourself. Enjoy the time trials tomorrow, London has never felt so empty, I cant belive working in Green Park how easy it has been to get to work.

So it says on the album's front cover - "An album of enchantment and disenchantment" - "The Damage II" by Chris Adams of String Driven Thing - "His rare German solo album remastered with extra tracks."

Gorgeous soft rock. It's clear to see Adams wears his heart on his sleeve throughout this record. Done in a way that draws you in so by the end of the album, you're hesitant to leave it behind. Best heard in its entirety as opposed to snatching a song or two (although if you must, Stoney Ridge and Stranger are two standouts that come to mind). This album is gorgeous (I know I've already said that, but it bears repeating - it really is gorgeous).
