This is brilliant, but Brighternow just rocked my day on another thread by noting that there is a new Nicholas Bernier album out, so that's where I'm headed right now. Thanks, BN!
ETA, can't wait to get to the Bernier, but this Greiner recording is superb.
Listening to Joe Bonamassa, Live at the Royal Albert Hall.
I need to double my thanks to BN for posting that Bernier release. Not only did I snag it, but it prompted me to do another search for his previous release, usure.paysage. It was initially vinyl only, which was no use to me. Well, it turns out they put out a limited CD release later (150 copies) and I was able to snag one from Germany via discogs.com. So double Bernier success day!! I've been wanting to hear usure.paysage for a while. (Now that I have mine ordered I can divulge that there is a second copy for sale at discogs).
Into Disc 2 now of James Brown's Original Funky Divas - I don't think every song is top shelf material but taken as a whole it is a very groovelacious experience. Dirty little secret - I got the CD version from an Amazon other seller for about $10 including the shipping - (insert James Brown utterance of choice).
Have to add this was a nice booklet of liner notes to have.
Noticed just tonight that Twin Peaks is on Netflix. I still remember how stoked I was - how many years ago? - when I found a cassette of that soundtrack in the cutout bin at The Wiz for $0.99 - a couple of tracks went right into the instrumental rock mixtape I was doing.
Hope he's not spinning too fast in his grave at the thought of his life work going for $0.99. Listened to the first three symphonies. Still feel a little daunted by the time investment that would actually be required to get to know everything in here well enough to have a proper opinion about it. Enjoyable enough so far.
Grouper - Violet Replacement Pt II: Sleep
The above link is to emusic, but I bought it much cheaper here (always worth checking junodownload for single-track electronic albums).

I wish I could go back in time and watch it again for the first time. That, and I'd like a piece of pie.
