I'm back for a couple of days after a few days at the Olympics seeing the 'public' events and then a week in Cornwall with family. Sadly, I couldn't get tickets for the Olympic Park events, even though I applied for lots, so I had to be content with those that were through the streets of London like the road cycling. Obviously a lot has been happening here whilst I've been away. As I said earlier I'm back for just a couple of days or so before going to Munich for the second part of our holiday - this time just the two of us, instead of eight in Cornwall. I was late with my emusic hold for August, so I need to download 100 tracks in the next couple of days too. I suspect Jonah's Jazz Picks will help plus my SFL might get reduced as well.
That's something you missed while you were out - a whole bunch of people were playing them; maybe Doofy started it? Anyway it took me a while to catch up.
Yes, that's the problem with being on holiday!! I've just downloaded six concerts which will keep me going for a while, along with the three free albums from Amazon UK and 60 plus tracks so far from emusic today. Amazon UK have a free 50 Years of Jamaican music comp - I haven't played it yet but it looks good for those of us in the UK. I'm sure the ever expnding range of good free music has been one of the factors in emusic's loss of customers. Even staying still is actually a deline in a fast growing market. Losing customers really is the beginning of the end in many ways.
I used to work in customer service and they were always telling us that keeping a customer is much more cost-efficient than gaining a new customer. I don't think emu really gets that concept.

No, because they're not trying hard enough to keep the customers they have/had.
Another cool free New Weird Australia comp - this one focuses on music from Perth.
Blood on the Tracks, The New York Sessions
Available free from Amazon UK
Totally agree BT!!
As to emu, agreed, I just meant that sometimes even if you're successful in gaining new customers you can still lose out by not maintating the old.
Brute Heart - Lonely Hunter
More psych/freak folk than what I usually listen to, but enjoyable.
Craig
Free at amazon US - I grabbed it about a year ago but never downloaded till now when I saw it pop up in the amacloud app.
