the US government's apology to Native Americans - which was buried on page forty-something of a 2010 defense appropriations bill and never publicly read by the government...no representative of which showed up for the public reading yesterday
Sorry 'bout that - Won't happen again

Minor Christmas miracle - was disappointed to find most album tracks unavailable at Guvera, now shows up among the new $5 albums at Amazon.
I stumbled across Guvera's Oingo Boingo collection a while back. I used some of my credits to download the 1 or 2 albums I didn't already have. But that prodded me to spin those that I did physically have over the past week. I spent a fair amount of time listening and re-listening to "Dead Man's Party" and then put this one on. Wow...I really liked this album back then and still dig it now; hasn't lost anything for me. In fact, I liked it so much I grabbed the CD for listening to during the drive into work this morning... and using Guvera to continue listening to it now that I'm at work.
ETA: wow.... Amazon has this particular physical CD listed for sale "used" for $28.95 ($78.42 for new)... none of their other albums seem to be demanding this kind of price premium.
@greg, yes, it was about a 13 hour drive including stops, not a welcome thought to the English mind. Good company helped though.

I revisited Boing a few months ago, but I had a different reaction. Growing up in LA, Dead Man's Party could have been my HS's fight song. While I found Elfman's delivery to be dated, I could appreciate the arrangements much more, particularly the Balinese influences. Only a Lad is still a great song.
Wet Saturday - weather summary on the radio "Dreadful, I won't worry you with the details". Think something more that 'Kind of Blue' may be required...
Gunshae - The Lost Cascadian Suite
Kuma (Transmissions)
Lady Eve (Oboe)
Vanessa Stovall (Harp)
- "The Lost Cascadian Suite is Gunshaes celestial anthem for the Pacific Northwest, in four parts. This is a collection of sub-aquatic ambient for the tribes of the Cascadian revolution. Far more laden with sub-bass than anything Gunshae has done to date, The Lost Cascadian Suite is what happens when free improv collides with classical orchestral training and is topped off with a life long passion for sound system music. Drift that can also make you vibrate." http://www.notype.com/drones/cat.e/pan_070/ - http://archive.org/details/pan070
Just been listening to Back to Back by Duke Ellington and Johnny Hodges - I am bowled over by how good it is. Amazing. It's on Guvera for not many credits - I very highly recommend it. It's a sheer delight.

Determined not to let the flood from Guvera overwhelm beauties found at other places. Still really liking this. Thanks, BN.

ETA: well, I learned that I don't really like the Bloody Beetroots. Should have known; my sentiments are exactly the same in the food arena.
