GP - with your interests in ambient and jazz, if this is on Guvera I'm sure you'd like it. Link to Amazon UK where you can hear longer samples than on emusic! Full tracks here on their web site.
@greg, sadly it isn't. I've noticed you playing it a lot, and therefore gave it a listen on Spotify. I quite liked it, but need another listen. I haven't had much success with finding recent Jazz picks from you and Jonah (I have not done anything like a systematic search, but I have looked for a few that I remember appearing here a lot or being extravagantly praised, like that Takoushis, or Tunnel Six, or Five Leaves Left (the more recent jazz version)). I don't know enough to know whether this means that Guvera is not much good across the board on newer jazz releases, or whether it's just a label by label thing, but I have not had much luck with the most recent ones I have happened to search for. I am far from complaining though - as a source for building an instant library of more classic jazz it's great. I was just reflecting again that a year ago I ordered one of those 25-CD jazz boxes and resolved that this was the year I was going to learn to listen to jazz. Little did I know the massive boost Guvera was to provide to that intent. "interests in ambient and jazz" still feels like a compliment - I still feel like a kid who goes to the ambient school but sneaks out to play on the play equipment at the jazz school.

Newer releases from major labels (eg, Blue Note or ECM) tend not to be there, and very few of the indie/small label things that Jonah finds. I've recently found some good stuff in jazz and pop looking at best-of lists from a few years ago.

Catching up on Guvera Dloads
From Guv. Thanks, Guv.
Pretty cool (cool pretty?) music I was previously unaware of, via Guvera of course.
Finishing up a run through Eno. This follows Here Come the Warm Jets and Taking Tiger Mountain (By Strategy).
Where do you think I got them?
Craig
- Thanks Lowlife . . .
