- "Serza" is Alexandr Vatagins third solo album. It combines the analogue and tender atmosphere of "Valeot" with the harsh, yet subtle digital electronics of "Shards" and is attesting to a consequent development towards maturity in sound and structure. The album features a huge spectrum of common as well as unusual instruments and friends from all over the world including Martin Siewert (Radian, Trapist), Hideki Umezawa (Pawn), James Yates (Epic 45, Pattern Theory), Fabian Pollack, Giulio Aldinucci and all Tupolev members." Amy Lavere - This World Is Not My Home, currently listening on Guvera.
My first Guvera listen. Took me a dozen tries before I finally found an album that Guvera actually has. I added it to my first playlist. Still don't know what I'm doing, as I see no ads anywhere. I guess eventually I'll accumulate some credits...
So the Domino drip put out a request for questions to ask Julia Holter. As I've seen quite a few people post her album here, I thought I'd post the Q & A.
*Not* Guvera! Actually I did notice it there, but purchased on eMu because Gu did not have all tracks.
Tyner in 1977 with 2 different bass/drum combos, below. They had me at Tony Williams.
McCoy Tyner: piano
Ron Carter: bass (tracks 1-6)
Tony Williams: drums (tracks 1-6)
Eddie Gomez: bass (tracks 7-12)
Jack DeJohnette: drums (tracks 7-12)
@GP - thanks for your help with the Guvera website. I guess I'm in list view. I must be a complete idiot because I can't even see any other view choice anywhere. How do I switch to tile view?
I am under the impression that you don't get download credits unless you view some ads - maybe give feedback? - is that right? So far I have figured out how to stream an album and create playlists, but that's about the extent of it.
@Greg, Josh Garrels' first album, Stone Tree? I haven't heard it, nor Over Oceans.
I see Garrels is offering free download of his five most current albums from now til March 28. Link
"Since learning more about the conflict and devastation in Congo, I've felt moved to be a part of the restoration effort. All tips received from my free albums will go directly to World Relief and their work in Congo." - JOSH
Brilliant stuff from The Free Music Archive: - "The Vainglories is the solo project of Gillian Lever, and is responsible for producing the soundtrack to her introspectivemoods. Melancholic melody intertwines with textured strangeness to create lullabies for the nightmare-prone. Based in Melbourne, The Vainglories constantly struggles with the grammatical difficulties arising from being a solo artist with a name more suited to a band." @kez, look at the top of the list of albums/tracks, in the middle of the screen. There are two little icons - click on one it gives you tile view, the other gives you list view. In tile view you'll see two larger tiles that are ads for Guvera that cycle round as you click on them. Some of them require you to link your account to facebook. Most of them do not give you credits. But if you keep clicking on them (and if necessary refreshing the page) then within about 15 clicks as they cycle through you will happen upon three per day that give you a free credit. As you click on any of these ads they will open a window that takes you to twitter or facebook or instagram, but you can just close that window- you don't have to do anything there to get the credit.

Future Now by Peter Hammill: excellent work, for fans for Hitchcock and Wyatt. Gu!
