An unreleased Pete Seegar recording, from a reel-to-reel tape recorded by Pete for Bob Davenport in 1963. Starts at about 1hr34, the penultimate song in the podcast.
Helios - Moiety. This Keith Kenniff, aka Goldmund. Loved his All Will Prosper, finally bought some Helios from Bandcamp. Quiet ambient, less melodic than All Will Prosper, more sweeping ambient synth and mood setting.
National Throat, Will Dailey's 4th album, comes out later in 2014. The first listen to two of the new songs ("Sunken Ship" & "Castle of Pretending") is in this expansive 20 song collection encompassing Dailey's whole career. Also included is the long time live favorite "$300 Dollar Man" available exclusively in this download.
When T Bone Burnett, John Mellencamp and Steven King are looking to fill out last years music ensemble of Elvis Costello, Sheryl Crowe, Taj Mahal and others for their "Ghost Brothers" project Dailey gets the call.
He has been called roots, rock, pop, indie and twang with a classic vibe. You can figure out for yourself what that all adds up to here. You may recognize him from the background of some movie or television show or from his tenure with Neil Young, Willie Nelson, John Mellencamp and Dave Matthews at Farm Aid or from his award winning songwriting popping up across US and French radio. While we wait for Will Dailey's new album this collection of 20 tunes, culled from his entire catalogue, is the first glimpse of National Throat.
So far, quite gentle folk/rock, reminds a bit of mid era Fleetwood Mac
DC area improv/noise stalwarts The Plums have been together 10 years, and just released their stellar double LP last year. Nixon's Mess is another hefty 32 minute slab of riffs, droned out feedback squalls and loose grooves that proves their criminally under-recognized status.
I like it. (Features the guy that is Insect Factory, see above) NYOP.

Young Thug - 1017 Thug
Young Thug's music is hard hip hop that makes me want to put my fist through a wall.
Both this and the last one are free on datpiff.com.

Great stuff. Still NYOP.
I'll steer clear of Young Thug for today because I already kinda feel like putting my fist through a wall.
