    Votel - s/t

Dark electronic stuff from a Twin Cities super group of sorts. Maggie Morrison on vocals (former Lookbook with BN's boy Grant Cutler), Ben Clark and Drew Christopherson from Polica, Mark McGee from Marijuana Deathsquads. This is really, good.

    Via Bandcamp.

Finished up last evening in a bluesy mood. This one of Robben Ford's released last month is really, really good, especially the tracks 'Midnight Comes Too Soon' and 'Top Down Blues' which are really incredibly good.

Followed by an older Robben Ford recording:

Two wonderful late-60s albums, available on this CD. Play order is mashed-up, but we can live with that. Listening to this music, I think of Jaki as the history of jazz piano personified.

An Ubu goodies repost from 2011:

    - And from the Avantgarde Project section:

"As the title says, these twelve pieces by Parmegiani are studies of the nature of sounds and their relations to each other. For example, the first piece confronts short and fast percussive events with longer sounds of various resonant bodies; the sixth piece mixes electronically treated sounds of woodwind instruments; the seventh piece explores the resonant capabilities of metallic objects. Although this work is more austere than later works like La cr
