@rostasi I'm really enjoying going through it all. I haven't even made it to the last 3 discs yet - Progress stalled by repeated listens to the Clifford Jordan stuff.
When Bowie toured with the Serious Moonlight tour, for the Milton Keynes gig members of the public could request which songs Bowie would do, the NME had a campaign for Bowie to do The Laughing Gnome, a bit of a shame as he passed on it.
PS the B side Gospel According to Tony Day is even worse
ETA, the singles from this album were coming out relatively early in my music listening history (I would have been about 14). I was not particularly into Bowie then and never bought one of his records. But I have been realizing more recently that while I have very dim memories of a lot of the chart material I was avidly listening to then, I can remember every Bowie song (and often the video that went with it) quite vividly. I wonder if I am old enough to appreciate them now.

Started with "The Laughing Gnome" to remind myself even the greatest songwriter of all time was complete shit when he started.

Decided to go chronologically today. Now onto Ziggy.
I'll have to track down Tony Day sometime. Pretty sure I've never heard that one.
