A few weeks ago I popped into Vertigo Records, my closest place for a good selection of used CDs. I asked the guy about something, can't remember what, and he told me that they were winding down acquisition of CDs to concentrate on vinyl.
The other day I got an email from Amoeba music, a site that I have not used a lot but have occasionally snagged downloads from, saying that they are getting out of the download business to concentrate on physical music sales.
It feels like the world is moving backwards.
ETA, goodness, musically accessible as it is, this is a challenging and disturbing album on lots of levels.
From the upcoming album `Geoglyph`. Geoglyph is a project of new interactive compositions for voice and live electronics with composer-performers, Erdem Helvacioglu & Sasha Bogdanowitsch. Sasha Bogdanowitsch : Vocals Erdem Helvacioglu : Live electronics
I do agree with you, GP, on Blackstar. I streamed it on Monday morning, a few hours after hearing of Bowie's death. the words had extra significance knowing that he knew he was dying. I'm not at all sure whether I will buy it or not.
I'm kind of in love with Trey Anastasio's playing on this, and really enjoying Bobby's voice too. I always liked Phish though; I'll be hard pressed to give Taylor's ex a try.
Wow. I just looked at Craig's post last night, not clicking any links...And this morning all of those albums are showing up on Amazon under "inspired by my browsing history." Kind of creepy
Hmm. For some reason the moment like that that felt creepiest to me recently (even though I know that physical location is not how the internet works) was when I looked up an article in a newspaper in new Zealand and their ads knew that I had just been shopping for a matress.

ETA, really good...Not sure how I missed it last year (ie, 2014). Taborn is now on my short list of people to see whenever they come to town
(I've been waiting all year to say this...): from Craig's list.
