  • ohhh, man - this one hurts...
    in memory of Gato...

  • Sad news indeed. I started here. My oldest brother was the Jazzhead in our family (still is)
and he introduced me to many great and interesting folks.

    Tupac Amaru
  • Agreed on Tupac Amaru. A favorite thing I used to do as a DJ was play that song and
immediately follow it with Astral Traveling from Pharoah's album Thembi - one ending
and the other beginning with those suspended Rhodes piano notes. Stunning.
  • I have to check it out

    Thanks
  • You can play DJ as well. Play Tupac Amaru and as soon as the last note is played
from his horn, start Astral Traveling up. Two great tunes that work well together.

rostasi, funny, that's just what I did. I was a little off in the transition, but 2nd time it was near perfect. I love most everything that make me think of birds. It was nice to spend some time thinking about Gato tonight.

    More January downloads from emusic.
I've been looking forward to this one since Brighternow first posted This is so groundbreaking, innovative and utterly brilliant...and tonight's the debut. I purposely avoided listening to any samples so I could get the benefit of a first time complete listen.
    Here we go.

    Thaw - (for spring)

I Can See You from Afar - (I'm that guy over here)
Thanks, a welcome addition to the library.

ps it always amazes me how little I know. I don't seem to have any other connections to them in my library (that i can remember). I know I got some exploring to do. Quitting Emusic isn't as easy as I thought it would be.

That Jozef Dumoulin is involved in a lot of different projects... all of them interesting.  Was in the process of putting together a column of his various recent recordings when I discovered this one.  Electronics, keyboards, percussion and odd vocals.

There's a couple tracks on his soundcloud page...
