    Yoiking with the Winged Ones

Yoiking is the ancient chanting practise of the Sámi People - the indigenous peoples on the top of Europe. Yoiking originates from time immemorial - legend tells that it was the faires and elves of the arctic lands that gave yoiks to the Sámi People. Yoiking was an important element of the religious rituals in pre-christian times and has survived both christianity, imperialism and the fact that Sámi areas were confiscated by the states of the north; Norway, Finland, Sweden and Russia.

    - Cool !

International ensemble/collective o.e.s. brings a multitude of interpretations to a composition by the eccentric avant-garde composer, Moondog.

  • Jerry Garcia Band feat. James Booker 1976-01-09, Palo Alto.

I'm so amazingly happy that this exists! The new emu my music made me pull out Booker's Junco Partner, one of my earliest purchases (not in my my music though), and so I was reading about him and found out he did a brief stint with Jerry, which was described as "Garcia mostly playing back up for Booker". Was able to track down a YouTube copy and convert it to audio. :)

Fine BItW rec. Gerald Cleaver on drums

  • Another forgotten rip on an old drive. Wonderful too; the first album from the pianist who unfortunately became an acid casualty who's body was washed up at Southend just four years after this was released.
